The longtime senator who shut down the Epstein investigation has a history of covering it up

-

Sen. Dick Durbin’s push to shut down Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s investigation into Epstein’s flight records comes after a series of actions covering the billionaire pedophile.

Which makes many wonder why Durbin is working so hard to protect Jeffrey Epstein.

“Senator Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, adjourned a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing before holding a vote on whether to approve the subpoena of Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee for Jeffrey Epstein’s flight records,” he to say. National card reported

“It turns out that Dick Durbin personally tried to shut down the Jeffrey Epstein disclosure movement by disparaging those who believe in a ‘grand conspiracy’ surrounding the death of accused child trafficker Jeffrey Epsteins. Durbin is a close ally of former President Bill Clinton , who stayed with Epstein and flew on Epstein’s private jet,” the news outlet charged.

The issue of Epstein’s flight records came up during a hearing in which Republicans attacked Democrats for attacks on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, accusing him of corruption.

“Since we’re in the business of issuing subpoenas now, I’ve filed a few more here,” Blackburn told the committee during Thursday’s hearing.

“A subpoena to the estate of Jeffrey Epstein to provide the flight logs of his private jet. Given the many allegations of human trafficking and abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, we must identify all those who may have participated in his appalling conduct,” he said.

“The American people deserve to know the names of every person who participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s human trafficking ring. We need to see their flight records. I have asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena his estate so we can review those documents,” Blackburn told X.

“Given the many allegations of human trafficking and sexual abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, I believe it is very important that we identify everyone who was on that plane and how many trips they took on that plane and the destinations they went to arrive.”, he also maintained.

Durbin stopped the authorization of the Supreme Court subpoenas after Blackburn and other Republicans objected and threatened to hit Democrats with a slew of subpoenas, including those targeting Supreme Court Justice Sonia Maria Sotomayor.

True to form, Durbin did not hold a vote on Blackburn’s subpoena for Epstein. But he recently sang the praises of a Justice Department inspector general’s report on the matter and also mocked those who believe there is a “conspiracy” surrounding the death of the notorious sex trafficker .

“I thank the inspector general for conducting a thorough investigation that reiterates many concerns I have raised for a long time and makes clear that this death was not the result of a grand conspiracy, but the incompetence and negligence of the BOP,” Durbin remarked in one statement at the time the report was published.

“My concerns, and those raised in this report, include the fact that the BOP’s understaffing is leading to dangerous conditions for incarcerated individuals and staff; that BOP must improve its prison cell system to increase safety and security in all their facilities; and that many people in restrictive housing need stronger mental health services and less restrictive custody,” Durbin said.

“I will continue to press the BOP to ensure that they operate federal prisons safely, securely and effectively, and I will continue to monitor these issues at a BOP oversight hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee this fall,” he vowed.

Blackburn is not going away and will make another move to get Epstein’s flight records.

“A spokesman for Blackburn told Fox News Digital that the senator would again press the Epstein subpoena at another committee hearing next week that will again address subpoenas from the Supreme Court investigation.” Fox News reported
