The left rag wants to “decolonize” thanksgiving, replace it with the action of truth”

-

Proving once again that there isn’t a traditional holiday that “woke” leftists aren’t determined to suck every ounce of joy out of, there have been calls to clean up Thanksgiving and replace it with something more haters taste

In a rulebook published by The Nation, one of the oldest magazines of the American left, the annual day reserved for food, family, football and gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon us is rudely covered by the ‘author who asks that it be the day. “decolonized”.

“The sanitized version of Thanksgiving fails to mention the violence, land theft, and subsequent decimation of indigenous populations,” writes Sean Sherman. “Needless to say, this causes great distress to those of us who are still dealing with the trauma of these events in our communities.”

“The roots of thanksgiving are intertwined with colonial aggression. One of the first documented ‘Thanksgivings’ came in 1637, after settlers celebrated the slaughter of an entire Pequot village,” the author continued. “I don’t think we should end Thanksgiving . But we have to decolonize it.”

“This Thanksgiving, let’s break the bonds of colonization and capitalism, not just on our plates, but on our perspectives. I want a Thanksgiving where I can be grateful to live in a world where diversity and where each person’s connection to their food, land and history is respected and valued,” Sherman added. “I would like to be grateful not only for a more inclusive world, but also for a more accurate explanation of the past.”

He also contributes the Chase Iron Eyes piece that says, “Let’s tell a different story by dropping the Thanksgiving lie and start a Truth Action.”

The call for an overhaul of the beloved holiday didn’t go down well with X users who told The Nation exactly where they could stick their turkey.

And once again, Trump was right even though he was mocked at the time.

“A decolonized Thanksgiving could transform a holiday haunted by historical amnesia into a celebration of genuine gratitude, unity, and recognition of our rich indigenous heritage. It would offer a clearer lens through which to see the world whole,” Sherman concluded. “We throw away food and knowledge, not bombs.”
