The former mayor of Louisiana was arrested for the rape of a minor a week after resigning [VIDEO]

Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office recently asked the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) to investigate allegations of sexual relations involving a former mayor of DeRidder.

During the investigation, LSP SVU interviewed two juveniles, one of whom revealed himself as the victim.

Her accounts corroborated the serious claims, confirming that Roberts had sexual relations with one of the juvenile victims during her tenure as mayor.

The evidence was strong enough for investigators to obtain an arrest warrant from the 36th Judicial District Court in Beauregard Parish.

Roberts decided to cooperate with authorities and turned himself in on August 1, 2024.

She was booked into the Beauregard Parish Detention Center.

The charges against her include LRS 14:43 – Rape in the third degree and LRS 14:92 – Contributing to the delinquency of minors.
