The deciding game of Tennessee forces 3 in the College World Series

The top-ranked Tennessee Volunteers entered Sunday's elimination game against No. 3 Texas A&M having struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities while in Omaha. During the seventh inning of Game 2, the Vols were 0-for-16 with runners on base and 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

However, it only took one swing by one of Tennessee's top hitters, Dylan Dreiling, to turn the game around. In the top of the seventh inning, Dreiling hit a two-run homer, putting Tennessee ahead 2-1.

It was Dreiling's second straight game with a home run, and it gave the Volunteers the momentum they needed. Catcher Cal Stark extended the lead with a two-run homer in the eighth and Tennessee won 4-1, forcing a decisive Game 3 in the 2024 College World Series.

Both teams are expected to use a mixed pitching strategy in Game 3, as their top pitchers have already started. Tennessee will look to capitalize on their late home runs in Game 2 and reignite their offense, which has been one of the best in the country before Omaha.

Game 3 details:
