Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy fantasized on air about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley running on a third-party ticket against former President Trump and was criticized for it.
The suggestion came Tuesday morning and was not well received. The panel was discussing recent CNN polls showing Trump has a substantial lead over President Biden in swing states. Doocy brought up Haley despite Trump holding a massive lead of more than 40 points over his closest rivals, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Haley.
“Given that Trump is way ahead of the Republican side for the primaries, and given the polling that we talked about yesterday where Nikki Haley actually goes down in a landslideJoe Biden, by, what, 17 points?” Doocy asked.
“Wouldn't it be interesting if Donald Trump became the nominee? Nikki Haley is running as a third party because then, you know, she, No Labels has said she wants a Republican to be the presidential nominee, but can you imagine Nikki Haley against Donald Trump and Joe Biden?” he asked his co-hosts.

“It would never happen,” co-host Lawrence Jones stated firmly. “She is a true Republican and would never go against the party.”
“If she wants to stop him,” Doocy raised. “You never know.”
Several polls show that Haley would beat Biden by a significant margin in a contest between the two, but she has no chance against Trump in the primary.

Meanwhile, as Haley seeks second place with DeSantis, Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire is reportedly preparing to endorse her. Fox News.
“The endorsement of the popular governor of the state holding the first primary and second general contest on the Republican presidential nominating calendar is all but certain to come when the two join Tuesday evening in a Haley campaign event in Manchester, New Hampshire,” Fox News reported. “Sununu's political team issued a media alert early Tuesday morning announcing that the governor would join Haley and make remarks at a town hall at 6 ET at McIntyre Ski Resort in Manchester.”
“Looking forward to joining Nikki at her town hall tonight – it's going to be so much fun!” Sununu said in a statement.
The governor of New Hampshire is not a fan of Trump and has been very critical of the former president.
“Nikki has done a great job. She's really been pounding the pavement in terms of going to different parts of the state, talking to people, letting people ask her questions,” Sununu told reporters during an interview. “His message seems to be resonating.”

Haley has been climbing in the polls, but still lags far behind Trump. He has passed DeSantis in New Hampshire and his home state of South Carolina to take second place in those states. He's also closing in on DeSantis in Iowa.
Sununu pledges to get behind the candidate he endorses “110%.”
“That's the fun part. Are you kidding me? I won't do it an endorsement and sit on my hands. When I do an endorsement, it's going to be a six-, seven-, eight-, nine-week push, whatever it is, to really make sure people know where we are. I tend not to leave anything on the table,” he told Fox News.
New Hampshire-based Republican strategist Jim Merrill told Fox News the endorsement was “a big deal.”
“There's no endorsement in New Hampshire you'd rather have. And it's clear he's going to use it early and often to support Haley,” he said.
This Sununu endorsement will get a lot more attention in the liberal media compared to the Reynolds endorsement.
Because?
It's because the liberal media can't stand Ron DeSantis and are afraid of him. Not the same for Nikki Haley.

“Chris Sununu is the Shohei Otani of New Hampshire politics. He is an extraordinary talent, best in class. He is our state's most successful and impactful Republican of his generation. So his support for Nikki Haley makes this the best day of his campaign and gives him a great cleanup hitter down the stretch,” stated Merrill.
Neil Levesque, who is the executive director of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College, also told Fox News in an interview that “It's always questionable whether endorsements matter. but in this casethis is a game-changing endorsement.”
“That's why,” he added. “Sununu is one of the most talented communicators in politics. Combine that with his credibility and popularity in a state like New Hampshire and the fact that he's basically going to hit the road and sell this to New Hampshire voters and make a persuasive case for Nikki Haley, I think he's going to move the needle. “.
Haley has also won the endorsement of the billionaire Koch Brothers Americans for Prosperity Action.
