Texas Land Commissioner Says Biden LNG Shutdown 'Looks More Like Retaliation Than Sound Policy'

-

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham accused President Biden of “retaliating” against the Lone Star State for its “bold stance” in defense of the border with Mexico.

How BizPac Review As reported, President Biden on Friday announced in the name of “climate change” a pause in the approval of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities in the United States.

Gov. Greg Abbott was quick to address X, calling the decision a threat to Texas.

“Biden's decision to freeze LNG exports threatens Texas and America,” he said. “This reckless decision is a blow to the hardworking men and women of the energy industry. It could also make some countries dependent on raw coal instead of burning natural gas.”

Commissioner Buckingham suggested that the timing of Biden's announcement has something to do with the current one situation between the Texas National Guard and the administration's border agents in Eagle Pass.

“Texas is the largest exporter of natural gas in the country and the third largest in the world,” he told Breitbart Texas. “This reckless federal decision made just one day after Texas took a bold stand to defend our border against foreign invaders seems more like retaliation than sound policy.”

Buckingham's office oversees “more than 13 million acres of mineral-rich land.” Breitbart reports “State of Texas Uses Production Royalty Taxes to Fund Education.”

“I will always stand up for Texas' right to energy independence, and I will stand up for the hardworking families and countless schoolchildren in Texas who will be harmed by this move,” he said.

Meanwhile, a convoy of truckers are heading to the border on February 3 with the goal of sending a “clear message” to Biden “in the name of freedom, patriotism and everything that is dear to the American character.”

“The American people have had enough,” U.S. Army veteran and freshman Keith Self (R) said during an interview with Fox Business. We demand that the Biden administration do its job, enforce the laws on the books, and secure our border: 8 million people during the Biden administration; that's more than the population of Ohio.”

“This is the time for us to stand up as the American people and demand that our president do his job,” Self said.

“Since last year, we (the US) have provided the EU with 46% of its LNG. With Biden's stupid temporary ban on LNG exports (which Texas leads the supply), Biden is forcing the EU, and our allies, to potentially return to Russian crude gas and fund the aggression they are facing,” said conservative radio host Dana Loesch. “Biden is undermining the security of the entire world in a tantrum over @GregAbbott_TX securing the border.”

“Texas' oil and gas industry continues to be a key factor in the state's economy,” according to Breitbart. “Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil and Gas Association, reported the industry adding more than 15,000 jobs to the Texas economy by 2023.”
