Disturbing video from north Texas shows a group of Black Lives Matter activists obstructing a highway with police protection.
Dozens of BLM activists were seen in the footage marching and chanting in the middle of a downtown intersection on Friday, prompting an angry motorist to get out of his vehicle to confront them.
“Get the f**k outta my way!” the man yelled at the protesters as he marched toward them. “Where’s the goddamn cops?!”
The man then noticed a nearby Plano police officer – doing nothing to address the illegal highway obstruction – and asked him to enforce the law.
“They can’t be in the middle of the damn road!” the man told him.
Instead of addressing BLM’s civil disturbance, the cop appeased the protesters by blocking the man from confronting them and trying to calm him down, beckoning him back to his vehicle.
The protesters continued to swarm around cars on the intersection, with some trying to confront the man and recording him on their phones.
According to Texas Penal Code § 42.03:
A person commits an offense if, without legal privilege or authority, he intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly:
(1) obstructs a highway, street, sidewalk, railway, waterway, elevator, aisle, hallway, entrance, or exit to which the public or a substantial group of the public has access, or any other place used for the passage of persons, vehicles, or conveyances, regardless of the means of creating the obstruction and whether the obstruction arises from his acts alone or from his acts and the acts of others; or
(2) disobeys a reasonable request or order to move issued by a person the actor knows to be or is informed is a peace officer, a fireman, or a person with authority to control the use of the premises.
The footage is painfully ironic given the police officer is defending a lawless radical group – that actually wants to defund the police – from a man who is just trying to get to work or to his family.
