Teen tries ROLLS SUV donut, crushes 5 hanging out windows and sunroof, video shows

The tragedy of youth is that it is wasted on the young.

A rollover crash in Colorado Springs left five young people with life-threatening injuries after they opted to hang out of the SUV's windows while the driver attempted an upside-down donut.

Ignoring the laws of physics, the driver, identified as Marisol Wentling, was attempting the stunt in the parking lot of The Market at Spring Creek while several people were half out of the SUV sitting in open window spaces and others were exposed to through the sunroof. The SUV quickly overturned, crushing most, if not all, of the passengers.

Bystanders rushed to help the injured, who were all taken to the hospital, according to KRDO; the affiliate noted that there was no update on its conditions from officials as of Monday morning.

Colorado Springs police said Wentling was arrested and faces a charge of vehicular assault.

Francis Barclay, who sells Christmas trees in the car park where the accident took place. he told KRDO that donut-making vehicles are nothing new.

He wasn't there the night of the crash, but Barclay said, “I feel like, because I've been doing this for five years, it's getting more and more frequent. It's been like every third or fourth night out here, there's somebody here that screeching tires. I see a lot of activity.”

“I feel for these kids,” Barclay added. “I hope they survive, and if they do, I hope they never do it again.”
