Taylor Swift searches shut down on X after graphic AI-generated images circulate

-

Searches for Taylor Swift were temporarily disabled on social media after graphic fake images of the world's most famous Kansas City Chiefs fan were circulated.

In an extraordinary move, Platform X shut down all searches for the pop superstar, who is also the highly visible girlfriend of Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce after the proliferation of “deep fake” images generated by AI, some featuring sexually suggestive themes with the NFL team.

“Posts aren't loading right now,” said one message still coming in early Sunday morning for searches of Swift's name. “Try again later.”

“This is a temporary action and is being taken out of an abundance of caution as we prioritize security in this matter,” X Chief Operating Officer Joe Benarroch said Saturday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Swift's false images drew indignation when they started showing up with an example of the fake singer lying on the floor naked and painted red and in a sexually suggestive stripper pose with her tongue hanging out and the words “F * K ME” across her chest on the Chiefs feed. soccer players, reported conservative outlet Breitbart News in a story showing the lewd image.

The images prompted an angry response from the singer's fans with one “Swiftie” asking “How is this not considered sexual assault?” to X, while another said: “When I saw Taylor Swift's AI pictures, I couldn't believe my eyes. These AI pictures are disgusting,” the New York Post reported.

Even the White House got in on the outrage action.

“The circulation of fake images of Taylor Swift is alarming. We know incidents like this disproportionately affect women and girls. @POTUS is committed to ensuring we reduce the risk of fake AI images through executive action. The work to find real solutions will continue,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, suggesting that President Joe Biden may soon become involved in what appears to be a perfect excuse for online censorship more supported by the government.

“Our teams are actively removing all identified images and taking appropriate action against the accounts responsible for posting them,” X said in a statement. “We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that any further violations are immediately addressed and that the content is removed.”

Swift has been absolutely everywhere in recent months, and NFL fans have been drooling over the league's obsessive coverage of the megastar attending nationally televised Chiefs games where her crush was “Mr. Pfizer ” makes that the top goal of quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the team heads toward another Super Bowl, an event that will be saturated with Swift if Kansas City is in the game.

The Baltimore Ravens will have one last chance to end fan suffering when they take on the Chiefs in Sunday afternoon's AFC Championship Game with the winner advancing to next month's title game in Las Vegas.
