A man suspected of a fatal crossbow attack on the wife and two daughters of racing commentator John Hunt has not yet been interviewed by police. The suspect, Kyle Clifford, 26, remains in hospital and will be questioned when doctors confirm he is well enough. A detainee's usual term of custody has not yet begun due to his hospitalization.
The victims, Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were found fatally injured at their family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, shortly after 7pm on last tuesday Clifford was in Enfield, north London, less than 24 hours after the manhunt began.
John Hunt, who is a well-known racing commentator, expressed his deep grief and devastation, saying the pain he and his surviving daughter Amy are experiencing “can't be put into words”. He also paid tribute to Amy, describing her as “magnificently inspiring”.
Despite the horrific tragedy that has befallen his family, Hunt acknowledged the outpouring of support they have received. He likened all the messages of condolence and encouragement to a “reassuring hug” and assured those concerned for his well-being that they would persevere through this difficult time.
