
A suspect has been arrested by Las Vegas police in connection with the fatal shooting of Tupac Shakur in 1996. It’s a long-awaited development in a case that has baffled detectives and captivated the public since to be the icon of hip-hop. shot and killed on the Las Vegas Strip 27 years ago.
According to two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest, Duane “Keffe D” Davis was taken into custody early Friday morning, though the specific charge or charges were not immediately known. Ahead of an early arraignment later Friday, they were not allowed to make any public statements.
In interviews and in his 2019 biography, “Compton Street Legend,” Davis, who has long been known to detectives, acknowledged that he was in the Cadillac when shots were fired during the September 1996 shooting. Shakur was shot dead when he was 25.
