Republicans and conservatives reacted with outrage on social media after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump could not be included on the state's presidential ballot on Tuesday.
The jury of seven judges disqualified Trump from the vote, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, in a 4-3 ruling. Colorado has a Jan. 5 deadline for voting in the Republican primary, seconds on CNN.
“This irresponsible ruling will be appealed to the US Supreme Court and our legal team looks forward to helping fight for a victory,” said Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. published at X. “The Republican nominee will be decided by Republican voters, not a partisan state court.”

“This is what a *real* attack on democracy looks like: In an un-American, unconstitutional, and *unprecedented* decision, a group of Democratic judges bars Trump from voting in Colorado. After trying every trick in the book to remove President Trump from running in this election, the bipartisan establishment is now deploying a new tactic to prevent him from running again: the 14th Amendment,” said Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. he tweeted. “I pledge to *withdraw* from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state ballot, and demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie and Nikki Haley do the same immediately, or in otherwise they tacitly endorse it, an illegal maneuver that will have disastrous consequences for our country.”
Republican officials also criticized the ruling.
“Putting Trump off the ballot in Colorado under this theory is bogus, likely unconstitutional and a woefully predictable but outrageous form of law,” said Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas. published. “SCOTUS should end this.”

“Democrats and 4 judges in Colorado just stole the election from the people of Colorado and robbed them of their right to vote for President Trump,” said Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia. published. “This is an unprecedented violation of the First Amendment that must be struck down by SCOTUS. This cannot be allowed to stand.”
Some X users said they saw hypocrisy in the Colorado Supreme Court ruling.
