The Irish public appear to be fed up with mass illegal immigration and claims are emerging that the police are mistreating protesters in the small town of Roscrea, where migrants are being put up in the only hotel available.
This has been happening for some time according to reports, but clashes between the disgruntled population and the authorities are becoming more contentious and possibly violent. A Dublin hotel where illegal immigrants were staying was recently set on fire.
“A man has been arrested after a fight broke out at a hotel in Co Tipperary as anti-immigration protesters gathered while asylum seekers were forced into the premises,” he explained. Irish Examiner reported

“It comes as protesters began demonstrating at the Racket Hall Hotel on the outskirts of Roscrea last Thursday after it emerged it would be used to house people seeking international protection,” the outlet added.

A bus reportedly arrived at the hotel with women and children around noon on Monday. The hotel has 40 rooms and will host 160 illegal immigrants.
“The Racket Hall Hotel was the only hotel operating in Roscrea until it closed its doors to the public on Thursday night following the announcement that the facility's owners have signed a 12-month lease to use its 40 rooms to accommodate 160 applicants for international protection.” el Irish Times reported
“According to the department's briefing note, the property consists of 'large refurbished four-star hotel accommodation' with amenities and 'extensive on-site community recreation space'. It will have high-speed Wi-Fi,” continued the prey

Approximately 200 angry protesters gathered at the hotel. People who witnessed the arrival of the illegal immigrants assured that it was not women and children, but men who got off the bus. The authorities call them “asylum seekers”, the residents call them “illegal immigrants” and categorically state that they are not welcome.
The police arrived in eight vans when the migrants arrived at the hotel to dissuade the locals from locking them out. Viral videos have surfaced showing police and protesters heading for them. One claimed police slammed a protester's head against a table and then beat him.

After the illegal immigrants arrived, the police stayed at the hotel forming a line and giving a show of force to the residents, warning them to back off.

Something very strange is happening in Ireland. The national police, paid for by the Irish taxpayer, are now going into small rural communities to enforce mass immigration to our former homeland against the wishes of the local population. pic.twitter.com/d47F8lNgJz— Lawyers for Justice Ireland (@LFJIreland) January 15, 2024
“Shortly before 12 noon, uniformed members of An Garda Síochána, supported by 'soft cover' law enforcement personnel, provided a cordon at the entrance to IPAS [International Protection Accommodation Services] Center to facilitate access to transport carried by applicants for international protection,” Irish police said.
“Soft cap” indicates the police were not wearing helmets or body armor, according to the Irish Examiner.
“A man was arrested under the Public Order Act and has since been published. A file will be drawn up for the Prosecutor's Office”, the press pointed out.
BREAKING NOW: Hundreds of people gathered in Roscrea this evening to protest the accommodation of 160 “asylum seekers” in the town's only hotel. The people of Ireland have had enough. What an incredible turnout in icy conditions! pic.twitter.com/r8P7AjrJRj

Police say no pepper spray was used to subdue the man.
“There was no need for this, the videos are shocking. We've been here peacefully protesting, it was crazy, we really didn't want any of this,” a woman named Martina told the Irish Examiner.
“We have been here since Thursday evening, in peace, many people have come and gone. There was no engagement with the locals, and no one came to talk to us. There was no negotiation or discussion. Anger has started to rise, and the asylum seekers arrived this morning, everything started, it was not acceptable. Little kids were here,” added a local named Michael Donovan, according to the outlet.
“The protesters will take things day by day and it is a protest throughout the day, and the Government is responsible for this. They did not hold any discussion with us. Roscrea is on its knees, this was the last hotel we had in Roscrea and we don't have the gardaí, we don't have the jobs, we don't have much. The Garda station is only open at certain times, people are unemployed, and this is the result. We don't have the resources to deal with this,” he said in the interview.
Ireland is trying to pass a new law that could imprison citizens for possession of memescartoons or any content that can also be considered “hateful”.
