Conservatives are reeling once again as GOP Rep. Mike Johnson, the newly elected speaker of the Louisiana House, takes on Democrats and their latest bloated and dangerously misallocated spending scam. On being elected president, Johnson promised real change in Washington. However, it seems that regardless of who holds the majority in Congress and who is in “leadership,” the left-wing Democrats maintain full control of the budget, which means that they ultimately control the entire process
Going back several decades, it has just been assumed that “nothing can be done” to stop out-of-control spending or to bring even the slightest degree of accountability to the Nation's purse strings. The Democrats will have none of it, and even frankly, conservative Republican senators and representatives, regardless of their numbers in Congress, have been surprised to believe that they are powerless to make any real, substantial inroads into the “Business As Usual” by DC. Of course the RINOs are fine with this abysmal status quo as it gives their pro-left/globalist treason a cloak of cover.
But how did we get to this detestable place, and what can be done about it? The answer requires revisiting the Clinton years and the disastrous “Budget Deal” of 1995, which set the stage for every subsequent fiscal blowout since. However, if properly analyzed (and that means ignoring the entire history review of fake news and the Democrats), Americans would find that they actually have a plan to fight this fight and restore fiscal sanity to the swamp of washington, completely corrupt.
By December 1995, efforts in the Republican-dominated Congress and Senate to stop Bill Clinton's budget had completely stalled. Deliberately inflated by Clinton as an ugly political calculation and a foray into socialism, Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R.-KS) initially appeared to stand by his pledge to slow the national slide without Clinton control to the left. Then the Clinton machine and its media lackeys went into overdrive, hysterically predicting all the financial hardship and disaster that would befall Americans, coast to coast, unless Dole caved.
Some left-wing media efforts went beyond the ridiculous, engaging in shameless fear-mongering amid crocodile tears that Americans would be thrown out into the streets when their Social Security checks didn't arrive. A Fake News report lamented that Yellowstone's horse-drawn sleigh concession would face total ruin, as if it were a bellwether of livelihoods across America.

After all eighteen days, Bob Dole issued his “Enough is enough” concession on January 2, 1996, ceding the battle to Clinton and her violation of the American treasury. Almost every subsequent budget battle has followed an almost identical pattern, the only variation being that Republicans often go down much faster.
Enjoying this influence, Democrats happily allow budgets to lapse unless they get all the items they demand, knowing they can blame Republicans for any setbacks along the way, however brief. Worst of all, so many GOP backbenchers, acting out of fear of fake news and retribution from Democrats, will immediately impeach any Republican who dares to follow through on campaign promises regarding fiscal responsibility.
A classic example of this was in 2013, when Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada allowed the clock to run out and the government to “shut down,” while blaming Sen. Ted Cruz (R.- TX) for refusing to budge on the impending Obamacare nightmare. Predictably, Reid was able to count on Senate Minority “Leader” Mitch McConnell to do his dirty work, along with Speaker John Boehner, both of whom were quick to rebuke Senator Cruz with a and zeal that somehow they could never muster. any democrat
Here again, the fake left-wing Democratic outrage to cow and bully Republicans trumped the absurd. Claiming the government was broken, Barack Obama spent extra money to erect fences around World War II, Korea and Vietnam memorials, with the intention of creating a “hardship” for veterans, a typically conservative constituency, to inflame anger against Republicans by denying them access. .
Instead of standing firm on principle and fighting to defend the real and constitutional responsibility to establish a proper and working budget, Republicans are now content to descend to such cowardly and absurd inventions as those “continuing resolutions,” with which hope to avoid criticism. from the leftist Democrats and their fake news minions. In the process, they abdicate their responsibility to the American people.

However, immediately after Dole's moral and ideological surrender, the numbers changed completely. Clinton was about to back down. And if he had, Dole and the Republicans might have been fully vindicated, despite all the Democrats and fake news. The duly ignored “elephant in the room” is that accepting guilt, even on a totally false premise, ultimately “validates” it. That's what Dole accomplished, to the Democrats' benefit, with his “Enough is Enough” surrender.
Despite Democrat and Fake News claims to the contrary, it is clear that the party deemed to have “caused” the shutdown is not to blame. Rather, it is the side that capitulates. In the end, the losers get nothing, and they could have avoided all the controversy, if only they had played from the start. This is the huge, dirty secret that has been staring America in the face, but that the left is still feverishly working to cloud.
In January 2018, President Trump managed to expose the lie. Instead of falling into the standard calm-and-calm trap, he loudly and appropriately labeled this budget impasse the “Schumer Shutdown,” at which point Democrats were forced to back down.
