Former Republican presidential candidate Tim Scott is leaving the bachelor behind.
The South Carolina senator, whose name has been rumored as former President Donald Trump's possible vice presidential pick, just got engaged.
The 58-year-old bachelor proposed to his girlfriend and “soul mate” Mindy Noce on the beach at Kiawah Island in South Carolina on Saturday. He reportedly asked his parents for their blessing before popping the question to the 47-year-old mother of three.
“She said YES,” he wrote in a social media post alongside pictures of the couple, with the interior designer bride-to-be showing off her new engagement ring.
She said yes.
Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.

“As a guy who's mostly introverted and quiet, having to have a conversation about engagement is a little, you know, awkward in a way, but it's the most exciting thing I'm going to do with my life besides doing it. Jesus, my Lord,” Scott told The Washington Post in a interview a day later
“I've been very patient and prayerful, I'm very excited and a little nervous, and I couldn't be more grateful to have found a soul mate and someone who shares many of the same interests, passions and goals that I do,” he added.
The senator faced a barrage of questions about his love life while campaigning for president and sparked more curiosity when he introduced Noce after a primary debate in Miami, Florida. Scott ended his run for the White House in November and has just endorsed former President Donald Trump.

“My joke is that as soon as I saw her picture, I knew it. But the truth is, about two weeks later, I knew there was something very different about her and her faith,” Scott told the Washington Post. “In our first conversation that lasted an hour and a half or two, we ended up deciding to do a Bible study together.”
He strategically planned the proposal and even hit a little hiccup along the way.
An early idea to propose after a game of pickleball, a hobby they both enjoy, was rejected by one of their friends, she said.
“He settled for a sunset proposal on Kiawah Island, which led to a long drive Saturday to the icy beach. He described awkwardly trying to dissuade her from wearing gloves when they went out on the sand and place someone to take a photograph of the event,” WaPo reported.
Speaking to Fox News host Trey Gowdy, Scott described how the day he proposed was “sacred.”
“Going to the beach and getting down on one knee and asking Mindy to marry me was so much more important than anything else, and I wanted to make sure that that sacred day wouldn't be disturbed by anything political,” he said .
Scott was congratulated by many, including some GOP colleagues.
Congratulations!!
