Louisiana Republican Sen. John Kennedy blasted the US Secret Service on Fox News, saying they were “outmaneuvered” by “a 20-year-old punk” in the Trump assassination attempt.
Kennedy appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” Wednesday evening to discuss a newly released video showing a figure walking across a roof nearly three minutes before Thomas Matthew Crook opened fire on the former president and the crowd. Guest judge Jeanine Pirro began by asking the senator why the Secret Service would allow Trump to “take the stage” in the first place.
“Let me emphasize the positive first, judge. When the president was run over and fell, a dozen men and women stormed that stage. Several established a perimeter, the rest piled on top of the presidents. They were willing to take a bullet for their country,” Johnson said.
“The shooter was already dead, but they didn't know it. I'm very proud of these men and women and I'm very proud of these Secret Service agents and other law enforcement officials,” Johnson continued. “Having said that, the fact is that a 20-year-old punk outdid the service secret”.

Kennedy continued to call out the Secret Service while vowing to “go after” the acting Secret Service director Ronald Rowe Jr. “like I stole” his dog “until he answers” questions about security failures at Trump's Pennsylvania rally.
“Let me say that again: I'm not going to bubble wrap this. A 20-year-old punk beat the Secret Service and the American people have a right to know why. We had a hearing yesterday, we learned a few things new, but it's still being investigated,” Johnson said.
“The American people deserve answers. Point three, we have a new head of the Secret Service. He tried to be forthcoming yesterday. He didn't answer all the questions because he couldn't, but I can promise you that just as I promised him,” Johnson continued. “I will pursue him like he stole my dog until he answers the American people's questions about what happened.
