Second shooter theory in Trump assassination attempt gaining traction

-

(Ken Silva, Holder USA) Like many Americans still struggle with the awesome secret service security failures that nearly killed presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Saturday, others are beginning to consider the possibility that there was a second shooter with Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Headline USA was one of the publications, if not the first report about a possible second shooter, citing an interview with an attendee at a Trump rally hours after the attack.

“What I've heard coming out is that they feel there were two shooters, one on either side. They got the one on the tower, but they never got the one on the right. That's why they wanted us to leave immediately: because they thought there was still a shooter out there,” said a woman from Butler, Pennsylvania, named Erin, who was in the front row of the rally.

How The US holder pointed out in his initial report Saturday, eyewitness reports can be unreliable. However, others have come out of the woodwork to support the second shooter theory. In particular, they're relying on Trump's rally aide Erin's account of a possible shooter at the water tower behind Trump.

The most prominent person referencing the water tower appears to be Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who referenced it Wednesday in a CNN interviewwho cut him off before he could finish his thought.

“You talk about the eagle's nest. You also have, which no one talks about, the water tower,” Mills said before being interrupted by the CNN reporter.

Anonymous Twitter/X accounts have also circulated images of someone at the nearby water tower. The veracity of these images has not been established.

Image aside, other alleged bystanders have also added to the second shooter theory.

“Those shots were coming from the back… Those bullets were coming from Trump's left rear,” said a self-described rally attendee.

Meanwhile, others have pointed out that at least three firearms were fired during Trump's assassination attempt. This information does not necessarily support the second shooter theory because Crooks, the Secret Service and a local law enforcement sniper reportedly fired during the exchange.
