Seattle Caves Agree to REWARD Protesters $10M for 2020 BLM Riots

-

Seattle on Wednesday became the latest city to reward Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters with millions of dollars for causing chaos following the death of George Floyd in 2020.

Fifty BLM protesters sued the Seattle Police Department alleging that they used excessive force as the city burned.

City attorney Ann Davison said making the rioters more than $10 million was in the city's “best financial interest.”

“This decision was the best financial decision for the city considering risk, cost and insurance,” Davison said in a Press release announcing the deal. “The case has been a significant waste of the City's time and resources and would have continued to be so through an estimated three-month trial that was scheduled to begin in May.”

According to the statement, the case involved “hundreds of interactions between the plaintiffs and law enforcement officers; over a million pages of records; over 10,000 videos; hundreds of witness interviews; [and] extensive court records”.

The City of Seattle “admits no wrongdoing in the case,” the statement said.

“This settlement resolves most of the remaining claims arising from the 2020 demonstration period and is a big step in allowing the City to focus on the important work of today, while moving on from the events of four years ago,” he said. said Davison.

How BizPac Review As previously reported, Seattle already had to pay residents and businesses $3.6 million to settle a lawsuit filed after protesters took over a Seattle block in the summer of 2020 and renamed it ” Occupy Capitol Hill Protest” or “CHOP”.

“The rioters forced the police out of the area, where several people were shot and two were killed.” Blaze Media remember

Among the plaintiffs in the suit against the city's police department were “a woman who had a heart attack when she was hit in the chest by an SPD explosive ball, a man who was hospitalized in coma after his arrest and a veteran who uses a cane and was 'gassed and tackled because he didn't retreat fast enough'”. Seattle Times reports Others included a teenager whose finger was partially blown off by an exploding ball and “dozens of others who suffered permanent hearing loss, broken bones, concussions, cuts, bruises and emotional damage” at the hands of the agents in Seattle, attorneys for the plaintiffs said.”.

Although considered one of the most “woke” cities in the country, Seattle was not the first to pay the “victims” of BLM.

In March, New York gave approximately 330 BLM protesters $21,500 each in what was billed as a “historic” settlement against the New York Police Department. The class-action lawsuit accused New York police of unjustly surrounding and brutalizing activists during a Black Lives Matter protest in June 2020.

weeks later, Philadelphia reached a seven-figure settlement with BLM protesters related to “physical and emotional injuries” suffered in 2020 when they blocked traffic on a busy interstate highway.

After pepper spray and tear gas, these activists received a $9.25 million payday.

AX, the Seattle settlement sparked a new fury.
