Ron DeSantis Gives Up On Tim Walz: 'This Guy Is A Shy!'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted his Minnesota counterpart as a “shy” who is more radical than the media gives him credit for.

The Florida Republican didn't mince words as he spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity about Gov. Tim Walz, who was named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate on Tuesday. DeSantis criticized the left-leaning governor's record and said Republicans need to counter the hard-line Democratic ticket as the presidential race winds down to November.

“Is this what Americans want? The San Francisco experience where the homeless defecate in public on the sidewalks? DeSantis said Tuesday on “Hannity,” referring to the “vapid” Harris and her record as San Francisco District Attorney.

“Minnesota's experience, where cities are burning, and Governor Walz was derelict in his duties to sit back and allow these cities to burn,” he continued, taking a jab at Walz. “Kamala Harris was cheering it on, and she even raised money to bail people out. So yeah, the Harris-Waltz ticket is Make America Burn Again.

“I saw his speech,” DeSantis said. “This guy is shy. I mean, he says these things, he says, 'Oh, you know, leave your neighbors alone. It's none of your business.' This is the guy who set up a hotline during COVID for neighbors to report if anyone was breaking their draconian COVID restrictions.”

“He claims that people should be able to make whatever health care decision they want. Yet he, as governor, ordered the experimental COVID-19 shot,” he continued. “And then he says, 'Republicans are weird,' but this is the governor who put tampons in the boys' bathroom in Minnesota schools. Give me a break.”

DeSantis called the Democratic candidates the “leftmost ticket in American history” in a post on X where he also wrote, “Harris-Walz: Make America Burn Again.”

“In 2021, Minnesotans were approximately five times more likely to move to Florida than vice versa,” the former Republican presidential candidate posted.

“They were fleeing a state that, under Governor Tim Walz, turned its back on law and order, raised taxes and imposed unscientific coronavirus restrictions, harming children and destroying businesses,” he wrote DeSantis. “Walz is a rampant leftist, an Ilhan Omar-style democrat who puts ideology above all else.”

DeSantis addressed claims that Harris “bent the knee” in his party's pro-Hamas caucus by skipping Jewish Gov. Josh Shapiro in favor of Walz.

“I think she's part of the pro-Hamas caucus in the Democratic Party. That's who she is,” he told Hannity, adding that Walz is “in many ways a mirror image.”

The media won't “report his liberal positions” or “the fact that he gave drivers licenses to illegals,” DeSantis warned.

“They will disguise him as a moderate. They're going to say, 'Oh, just a football coach, just a teacher.' Talk about being a veteran,” DeSantis said.

“They counter it by coming out and telling the truth,” he responded when Hannity asked what the strategy would be to “counteract” the media's failure.
