Pennsylvania was one of several states at the center of controversy surrounding the 2020 election when the swing state took DAYS to tabulate results, prompting former President Donald Trump to claim the result be “manipulated”.
The Pennsylvania State Department raised serious concerns that 2024 will be no different when the agency announced Thursday that it won't be alarmed if this year's count takes a little longer, but Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling missing
“Pennsylvanians will not always know the final results of all races on election night. Any changes in results as counties continue to count ballots are not proof that the election was rigged,” said the 'state agency.
The Sunshine State has 10 million more people than Pennsylvania, but it can tabulate votes and produce results within hours of polls closing.
“Florida elections have millions more votes cast than PA elections, but we count the votes and report the results on election night, and we do it in an efficient and transparent manner. There's no reason so that this cannot be done in every state in the United States,” DeSantis said in a post shared on X.

The Republican governor also touted a notable increase in the number of registered voters per party under his leadership.
DeSantis posted, “Six years ago, registered Democrats outnumbered registered Republicans by nearly 300,000, and Florida has never had more registered Republicans than Democrats in its history. Now, Republicans outnumber Democrats by a million voters, the which is a radical change that few thought possible (and contrary to many predictions that FL would become a blue state).
“Leadership is important. Bold colors, not pale cakes,” she added.

Here's a quick sampling of responses to the story from skeptical social media users who saw enough of the last presidential election, as seen on X:
Too bad Pennsylvania can't recruit past and present Pasco County Supervisors of Elections Kurt Browning and Brian Corley as consultants. There is no faster or more accurate important Florida county reporting.

There is no reason, unless they plan to manipulate the election results.

The difference is that @PAStateDept is trying to rig their election and cheat like they did in 2020
It takes time to see how many illegal votes you need to add to the count to push your candidate over ♂️

Unlike PA, Florida does not attempt to cheat or manipulate election results. There's only one reason swing states delay voting results. We know it and they know it. Electoral fraud. @PAStateDept

Democrats need time to see how many “votes” they have to cast.
Count thresholds need to be exceeded, but not too much.
In LA, they've been using the New Orleans venues for decades— Tom (@BoreGuru) August 11, 2024
