Romney doesn't rule out a vote for Biden, says he sees no evidence of impeachment

-

Turncoat “Republican” Senator Mitt Romney suggested on Sunday that he might vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 race instead of former President Donald Trump.

During an interview with NBC News, he was asked point-blank whether, given his distaste for Trump, he would vote for Biden in the 2024 race. He didn't answer with a “yes,” but he didn't rule it out either.

I will not describe who I will rule out other than President Trump,” he said.

Listen to the entire discussion below:

He went on to talk incredible amounts of trash about Trump, even comparing him to a bubblegum machine.

“You know, when I was a kid, there was this thing called a bubblegum machine,” Romney said. “You could put in a penny and a ball of gum would come out. It was automatic. There was no filter. Put in the penny, out came the gum. Donald Trump is a kind of human bubblegum machine, which is a thought or a notion that goes into and it comes out of his mouth. There's not a lot of filtering that goes into it. There's not a lot of, 'What's the implication?' No, no. He just says whatever.”

“I don't attribute a huge amount of impact to particular words that come out and I try to evaluate each one. I think you can look at his record as president, and particularly in the last few months of his presidency, and say, “That's a dangerous approach.” It's an authoritarian approach.” That worries me a lot more than him playing the crowd the way he did,” he added.

That prompted the interviewer, Kristen Welker, to ask him why he doesn't take Trump at his word.

“Oh, I think we agree that we've looked at his behavior, and his behavior suggests that this is a person who will impose his will, if he can, on the judicial system, the legislative branch, and the entire nation.” , answered. “I mean, when he called people to come to Washington, DC on January 6, it wasn't a random date. That was a date when the peaceful transfer of power was supposed to happen. He called it on purpose “.

“There is no question that he has authoritarian decisions, interests and notions that he will try to impose. This is dangerous for the country. It was dangerous then. Life was lost. We were embarrassed around the world. I mean, this was a tragedy. And a number of things he did in the last months of his presidency suggest what he would do if re-elected,” he added.

Welker then suggested that Trump, if he wins, could remain in the presidency in perpetuity and thereby become a dictator.

To Romney's credit, he rejected this ridiculous idea.

“I don't think Donald Trump would want to stay more than four years,” he said. “And the reason I say that is because I, I think he's running for pay, and I think he'll have finished his pay after four years, if he's elected. I don't think he particularly likes being in the White House.” .

“I think he'd rather go back to Mar-a-Lago or his other properties. But he wants to show that he's not a loser, he won. And he wants to go after the people who were hard on him. So I think it's going to end after four years and will go back to other occupations,” Romney continued.

Later in the interview, Romney was asked about the GOP's impeachment efforts against Biden. Not surprisingly, the “returnee” senator sided with his colleagues, telling Welker that he has seen no evidence to support an impeachment inquiry.

“Have you seen any evidence that President Biden has committed major crimes and misdemeanors?” she asked him.

“No. I, I, I don't see any evidence of that. I think before you start an impeachment inquiry, you should have some evidence, some inclination that there's been wrongdoing. And so far, there isn't nothing of that nature has been provided,” he replied.

Critics didn't like it very much:
