RINO Congressman Patrick McHenry to cash in on political career as he retires – Discern Report

-

Editor's Comment: As more Americans realize that the vast majority of our “representatives” on Capitol Hill are there to get rich while rubbing shoulders with the powerful, there's a not-so-secret reality behind it all. They can make a lot of money from their perch in Congress, but that's nothing compared to what many of them can make after they're gone.

RINO Congressman Patrick McHenry is about to cash in. As chairman of the powerful House Financial Services Committee, he has the connections to land an 8-figure job after leaving office. He will make it official soon, according to him axes.

Any chance he might have remained in Congress was dashed when his friend, Kevin McCarthy, was removed from his position as Speaker of the House. Without further influence over the chair, McHenry's future was sealed.

Here is the Discern Reporter write-up generated by Corporate Media Reports:

House Financial Services Chairman Patrick McHenry (R.N.C.) is expected to announce he will not seek re-election, according to three Republican lawmakers who confirmed the news to axes.

McHenry, a North Carolina Republican first elected to his seat in 2004, has played an important role in the conference's policy decisions and leadership. Most notably, he served three weeks as interim chairman during the search for a replacement for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) in October.

As a key negotiator, McHenry has been involved in crafting major pieces of legislation, including the debt ceiling deal earlier this year. He also served as a top aide to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, overseeing many whip duties as the Louisiana Republican recovered from injuries sustained in the 2017 congressional baseball shooting.

It is worth noting that McHenry was out of his presidency at the end of the current term. Several lawmakers speculated that his departure was likely, anticipating that he would receive multiple lucrative job offers due to his position on the committee.

The announcement of McHenry's departure is expected to spark a race for the coveted presidency and is a source of concern for some within the Republican party, as retirements could affect their ability to retain a majority.
