Joe Biden is sometimes lethargic, slow, even inattentive when participating in an event or answering questions.
Sometimes he's on fire, angry, yelling constantly, spitting out words so fast they turn into word salad, like during his recent State of the Union.
And this is a contrast has led at least one forensic psychiatrist, Carole Lieberman, to suspect amphetamines, higher.
“If you look at what Joe Biden usually looks like, slow and stumbling, compared to how he was during the State of the Union, fiery and angry, those are typical signs of someone taking Adderall or any amphetamine,” he explained.
Similarly, Biden was aggressive, heated, loud and demanding in an address in Philadelphia last year.
But other times he has been seen wandering around, trying to find a way out of a stage. Barack Obama recently had to guide him to an exit. At times he has been seen standing, literally motionless, on stage.

But questions about whether Biden is using aid during this week's debate with President Donald Trump will remain unanswered, as his campaign has rejected Trump's calls for both candidates to be tested.
It was Biden's spokeswoman, Adrienne Elrod, who stumbled when asked about the test.
“I mean, I don't even know what to say about that. I worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign, you know, she debated him very effectively, too. He accused her of using drugs.”
Biden campaign manager Mitch Landrieu said in an interview, “Trump will talk trash like that all the time because that's what he does. The other day, you might remember, he was trying to question the acuity our president's mind and he couldn't remember his own doctor's name, so tell President Trump to bring whatever he has: President Biden will be there, ready for him.”
Indeed, Biden's waning acuity has already been confirmed by a federal special counsel who investigated allegations that Biden withheld government documents from his time as a senator and Barack Obama's vice president.
The conclusion was that he did, but charges were not recommended because of Biden's “diminished” capacity, in which he did not even remember when he was vice president.
The concerns have been made public by various sources. Former White House physician Representative Ronny Jackson has requested a drug test for Biden.
He had served in White House operations led by both Obama and Trump.
He said a few days ago that he was requesting that Biden submit to cognitive and drug tests.
He also cited the State of the Union, noting that “there's probably no way to explain it other than he was on to something.”
Jackson even suggested that Biden might be holed up at Camp David this week, preparing for the debate so the docs can be “getting the doses right.”
Trump has also offered to take a drug test, along with Biden.
Taking to social media, she said: “DRUG TEST FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN??? I, TOO, WOULD IMMEDIATELY ACCEPT ONE!!!”
Raw Story speculated that Mountain Dew, “the famous sugary, highly caffeinated soda,” could be used to “cure supposed dementia?”
The report said: “That seems to be the hypothesis of Rep. Erick Burlison (R-MO), who appeared on Fox Business on Tuesday to speculate about the types of 'drugs' that President Joe Biden will allegedly take to improve his performance debate against former President Donald Trump on Thursday.”
Burlison said, “Any older person, or someone who has dementia, can find some moments of clarity, right? They can find moments throughout the day that they have energy… I think the Trump team shouldn't underestimate Joe Biden and their. The ability of the team to, you know, if they're going to bring it up to Mountain Dew or whatever, look, the State of the Union this year, he had a lot of energy for about an hour, an hour and a half. .”
