'QAnon Shaman' Takes Big exception to being ignored by Matt Gaetz at AmericaFest keynote

-

“QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley doesn't seem so contrite these days, now that he's been released from his prison cell.

Now called the American Shaman, although he was eager to move away from the “shaman” moniker during his trial, Chansley appears to be running for Congress in Arizona. The career change comes after he was released early from a 41-month sentence for his actions on January 6, 2021. His release came after former Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired footage de Chansley being escorted through the halls of the United States Capitol by police. .

Still wearing a horned fur hat, Chansley not only attended Turning Point USA's annual AmericaFest conference in Phoenix, Arizona, but confronted U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for not only ignoring— lo, but to allegedly “steal” his campaign platform. .

“Coward! Coward coward,” Chansley yells in the video below, as Gaetz appears to avoid him. “These are the people who represent Americans who can't even talk to Americans? I was saying my name all over the place.”

“These are big names that claim to be for the little guy who gets fucked by the big machine, but he won't talk to me,” he added.

In another clip, he accuses the Florida Republican of stealing his campaign platform by proposing an anti-corruption plan:

In another tweet that suggests Chansley may be stalking the GOP lawmaker at the event, he makes both charges:

Gaetz's office provided Newsweek with a statement from the congressman explaining that Chansley is running against Republicans in Arizona — he's running as a libertarian — and wanted to avoid the appearance of endorsing him.

“Sometimes people running for office look for a photo with me to use in their campaigns,” Gaetz wrote. “Mr. Chansley is running for Congress against the Republicans and does not have my support. I didn't want to confuse my supporters in this district.”

While some on social media were quick to use the story to pounce on Gaetz, others felt Chansley was his own worst enemy here.

Here's a sample of some of the responses, as seen on X:
