A prominent Philadelphia transgender LGBT activist who went viral in 2020 was arrested Monday for allegedly raping two boys.
Kendall Stephens, a 37-year-old “transgender woman,” was charged with rape, involuntary assault, unlawful contact with minors and indecent assault on a person under 13, according to the New York Post.
Stephens went viral in August 2020 when she claimed to have been the victim of a gang assault that she described as a hate crime.
The alleged incident shot him to local celebrity status and gave him enough clout that he was able to work with lawmakers to pass laws protecting members of the LGBT community.
“I went to class the next day they beat me up because I'm telling you one thing nobody's going to steal my pride, nobody's going to steal my power. We deserve better than what we got. We're human beings,” he proudly boasted to CBS News already last March.
Now he's back in the spotlight, albeit for a very sinister reason.

According to the victims' aunt, “Aunt Kendall”, Stephens had been a family friend who had taken advantage of their trust.
“She is a friend of the family who has been around since they were born. You had this great aunt in their life and they think I don't want to tell an adult because I don't want anything bad to happen to Aunt Kendall,” the aunt recalled to the local station. WTXF.
The abuse was originally reported to police on September 25, 2023.
“The aunt [said] his little nephew, only 7 years old, reported the alleged abuse to his grandmother and that's when he says his two other nephews opened up”, according to the station.
“We were able to sit them down individually and that's when they broke down and cried and said everything that happened,” she recalled.
And then when she, along with the boys' mother, confronted Stephens, he “didn't deny it to us,” the aunt added. Instead, she tried to twist the story and claim that one of the boys, aged just nine, had tried to kiss her.
“No, he didn't!” said the aunt incredulously.
“I feel like I'm grooming my nephews… my nephews have definitely put up with it,” she added.
The aunt also expressed concern that Stephens could use his fame to avoid facing justice.
“I don't want her stature to be able to use that reputation and think she's going to be able to get her out of this situation because what she did to my nephews is unbelievable,” the aunt said.

Stephens is one of a growing number of LGBT-linked suspects who have been caught either grooming children or possessing child pornography.
In the summer of 2022, for example, a Pennsylvania drag queen and activist was charged with 25 counts of child pornography.
“Brice Williams, a local drag queen who mentored LGBT youth in Harrisburg, has been accused of downloading child pornography photos and videos two years ago.” The Patriot-News informed in due course.
“Williams, 26, of Chambersburg, is charged with 25 counts of child pornography for at least 49 photos and 25 videos of nude, prepubescent boys that the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office said he downloaded between May and December 2020 “, adds the newspaper.
Most recently, this past April, an Idaho high school teacher who had reportedly also been an outspoken LGBT activist was arrested for allegedly raping a student he had once taught.
“Eric McDermott, 59, of Meridian, faces charges of rape and sexual assault committed by lewd or lascivious acts on a minor between the ages of 16 and 17,” the Statesman reported at the time Idaho.

McDermott, a geography teacher and boys basketball coach at Fairmont Junior High, tutored the student when he was 15, according to prosecutors.
A year later, in 2020, McDermott allegedly contacted the student on a “dating site,” where he proceeded to talk to the boy for a few days and allegedly sent him nude photos.
The Fairmont Middle School teacher eventually picked up the boy, drove him to his home, and then allegedly sexually assaulted him.
