Project 2025, JD Vance and “Good Old Joe”

The views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

I read the Heritage Foundation one Project 2025, his framework for a new Trump administration, all 900 boring pages of it, making notes as he went. Democrats have their shorts in a knot. What bothers them is the prospect of an administration that actually puts in a leftist bureaucracy, a bureaucracy that has long acted to subvert the duly elected president when it saw fit. Project 2025 it calls for better management, eliminating duplication, consolidating disparate functions and removing those that do not or do not do their jobs or follow a legitimate administration policy. I would abolish the useless (anti) Department of Education whose only accomplishments have been lowering test scores and insisting that boys who call themselves girls play girls' sports. Homeland Security should also join the DOE in the bureaucratic trash heap, its constituent parts returned to their original or an appropriate existing agency. It was an unnecessary monster when it was created by the Bush administration; its value has only decreased. When attacking Project 2025The Democrats' reforms reveal their own version of the Brezhnev Doctrine: Once an agency exists, it must always exist.

Our government is full of bureaucrats who have no regard for their own rules and even the law. The Smithsonian went so far as to declare that Vietnam veterans were no longer counted as veterans and thus ineligible for a special recruitment program. When confronted, a supervisor tried to deny that veterans' status was permanent until OPM scolded him. The Smithsonian's position was a fabrication that the personalists had conjured up out of the ether. During the Carter administration, the State Department waived rules on the appointment of veterans to bring women and approved minorities on board by exempting them from the state's rigorous entrance examination. In disciplinary matters, bureaucrats have violated their own departmental regulations and federal law by going after long-serving officials with trumped-up charges when they wanted to get rid of them; perjury was no stranger to his proceedings. These are just a few examples, the list of abuses by an out of control Mandarin class is endless.

Yes Project 2025 it wasn't enough. Democrats are also angry about the rise of JD Vance. I am amused by Vance's critics, most of whom I assume are creatures of MSNBC or CNN where a reporter had claimed that BLM rioters were peaceful while a building behind them caught fire. Facts are a problem for the left. Down the memory hole is Kamala Harris calling Biden a racist. He changed his view of Biden as a racist when he called the vice presidency, but the left despises Vance for changing his view of Trump. At least Vance wrote an apology, Harris just praised Biden to the skies as the most accomplished president in modern history. What happened to Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson? Never heard of it? Oh, how easily would-be Democrats forget the heroes of their party. Personally, I'm neutral on Vance, but he has to scare the left. An Ivy League hillbilly, who hails from a social class that progressives believe shouldn't even exist, let alone vote.

When it comes to Biden, I have to hand it to Pelosi, the old lady is still a traitor. He learned his lessons well about the seedy politics of Baltimore. Her father, a peerless machine hack as mayor, would be proud of her. Now the panjandrums in his party, having vilified Trump as the greatest threat to democracy on the planet, ignore Biden voters and stage a palace coup. So much for democracy when it becomes uncomfortable. Congratulations are in order Nancy – you and the Party politburo imposed the dilapidated mountain bench on the country for as long as you could leave it when it was no longer useful. This business reminds me of “I Claudius” when Herod Agrippa, who had been a friend of Emperor Claudius, betrays him by rebelling against Rome. “Trust no one,” says Herod before he is executed. Joe should have paid more attention.
