DEI's initiatives seem to have managed to make an impact across the pond, even in the royal family.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have revealed what percentage of their household staff is made up of minorities, amid a push by the couple to add more diversity. According to the couple, a total of 66 people work in their home. Of these, 14 percent (or nine people) come from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
This information follows a 2021 pledge from the Prince and Princess of Wales Foundation that promises to be more inclusive.
“The Royal Foundation remains committed to equality and diversity and to the guarantee of a positive, safe and respectful environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of its employees, applicants, partners, suppliers and those whose interests it represents “, says a 2020 board of trustees report. .

Buckingham Palace, on the other hand, has different diversity data based on its own staff and has set a target of having 14 per cent of staff members from ethnic minority groups by 2025.
The Royal Household of King Charles III reported that 11.4% of its employees were of ethnic origin.
The average pay gap is 3.9 per cent, meaning that ethnic employees were paid less than their white counterparts.

So tough, don't they know poor Catherine has an aversion to black people? She prefers them safely behind the fence: pic.twitter.com/nyVqQ8JYFi

I always wonder if anyone asks the people who say they are not working if they really WANT to do the work. This is not glamour, security is tight, checks on your family and friends, long hours, constant harassment from friends and pressure from inside gossip.

I remember the good old days when we hired on merit alone.
The mere suggestion of hiring on merit alone causes palpitations in some people's hearts.
