President Trump explained at his rally in Pennsylvania on Wednesday why he decided to stop being sympathetic after the assassination attempt.
“When I got beat up, everybody thought I was going to be a nice guy and they thought I had changed. Remember? Right before the Republican Convention,” Trump said.
The former president claimed that everyone thought he was “going to be a nice man now” because he “came close to death”.
“And I was very okay with that for about eight hours or so,” he said with a laugh. “And then I realized they were trying to put me in jail for doing absolutely nothing wrong.”
