Initial reports revealed that Manchester police responded to a distress call from Rose's wife at 8:28 p.m. She reported that Rose, 39, was in a state of distress and had threatened to harm herself.
Armed with a semi-automatic rifle taken from his home, Rose's wife described him as intoxicated but uncertain about the length of his drinking.
Despite officers' efforts to de-escalate the situation for an extended period, Rose remained adamant about not giving up the firearm.
Manchester police officers Nicholas Greenwood and Michael Anderson eventually discharged their weapons, resulting in Rose being pronounced dead after being struck by gunfire.
During the confrontation, Rose's interactions with officers were marked by fluctuating emotions and requests to communicate with specific individuals.
Despite the officers' attempts to reason with him and prevent a tragic outcome, Rose's actions ultimately led to a fatal outcome.
