Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked National Security Council spokesman John Kirby during a news conference Tuesday why the Biden administration is allowing migrants to enter the country illegally.
Doocy referred to the Supreme Court Monday decision that these federal authorities may remove the razor wire erected by the State of Texas. Kirby advocated removing the wire, despite concerns it would invite more illegal immigration. (RELATED: Biden admin allowed more than 3 million migrants into US by 2023)

“Why are you making it easier for people to enter the country illegally?” Doocy asked.
“We're not,” Kirby replied.
Doocy then pointed to the demand to cut the border wire.
“Well, you guys sued to cut the razor wire that the Texas officials put up,” Doocy said.
“So the Border Patrol could do their job, but move on,” Kirby said.
National Border Patrol Council Chairman Brandon Judd has criticized the Biden Administration's push to eliminate the border wire, which Doocy brought up in his back-and-forth with Kirby.
“You won in court, now what?” Doocy said. “Border Patrol Union President Says Supreme Court Decision Will Undoubtedly Encourage More Illegal Immigration. Do you know more than the Border Patrol Union?
“Border Patrol needed access, and that's why we sued to get rid of that wire so they could do their job,” Kirby replied. “And you know what else would help them do their jobs, Peter? More Border Patrol agents. There's an idea, and if you go back to the supplemental request that we submitted, there's money for about 1,300 additional agents from the Border Patrol, we want to help them do their job. We want to give them more resources and the answer we keep getting from House Republicans is no, no, no.”
Doocy then asked Kirby if he thought the razor wire works.
“What is the razor wire for? It works for the Border Patrol to allow them to have the access they need to better process people who are trying to cross the border,” Kirby said. “I don't think so, and that's why we asked for it to be taken down.”
Under the Biden administration, illegal immigration has reached record levels, with the Border Patrol recording more than 2.2 million encounters with migrants crossing the southern border illegally in fiscal year 2022 and more than 2 million in fiscal year 2023. seconds to federal data.
In December alone, the Border Patrol recorded the highest number of monthly encounters, exceeding 300,000, seconds on Fox News.
