Podcast titan Joe Rogan didn't mince words this week, taking aim at CNN's credibility after an afternoon TV gaffe exposed the network's battered reputation. Rogan noted that CNN is now widely seen as “full of s…” after an awkward moment on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, where the audience burst into laughter at the mere mention of the so-called CNN's “objective” reporting, as reported by Fox News.
During a new episode of “The Joe Rogan Podcast,” comedian Adam Ray joined Rogan to dissect the exchange between Colbert and CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins. Colbert, known for his liberal leanings, tried to praise CNN's objectivity during Collins' appearance. Instead, the crowd erupted in laughter, mistaking the statement for a joke. Colbert, visibly taken aback by the reaction, struggled to clarify that his comment wasn't meant to be funny, even though the damage was already done.

Rogan couldn't resist showing the clip to his audience, commenting: “Start it from the beginning and go to the big screen because this is so absurd.” The podcast host questioned CNN's strategy, suggesting that the network's pursuit of sensationalism and ad revenue has destroyed its credibility. “You've ruined your business because now people think you're full of… You could have been simple, unrepentant journalists and they probably would have gotten away with it,” Rogan pointed out, before adding with a hint of sarcasm: “But you wouldn't have made that much money. You have to put up those ads.”
Joe Rogan laughs at CNN embarrassment on Stephen Colbert's show:
“This is how crazy this world has gone. Where the hell CNN is unbiased is a joke to the people in the audience.”

Collins had appeared on Colbert's show to discuss President Biden's decision to withdraw from the 2024 race, the media's ongoing showdown with former President Trump and the role of Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. However, the most memorable part of the interview was Colbert's ill-fated attempt to praise CNN, which backfired.
The incident highlights CNN's ongoing struggle with its image. The network became synonymous with anti-Trump rhetoric during his presidency, with figures like Jim Acosta often clashing with the Trump administration. This combative style earned CNN the nickname “fake news” from Trump and his supporters.
In 2022, Chris Licht, a former Colbert executive producer, took the reins at CNN, promising to move away from the left-leaning bias that had defined the network under Jeff Zucker. Licht aimed to win back the conservative viewers CNN had alienated, going so far as to fire some of the network's more liberal voices. However, the old guard remained, and Licht's efforts were ultimately in vain; he was ousted in 2023 after losing the support of the network's liberal staff.
Despite Licht's departure, left-leaning pundits like Jeffrey Toobin, Don Lemon and Brian Stelter have since resurfaced at CNN, signaling that the network's struggle to redefine itself is far from over.
