Pennsylvania launched an investigation into a school district superintendent after he allowed a “genderqueer witch” to discuss sexual topics with students without parental consent, according to a letter obtained by The Daily Wire.
On Friday, the Pennsylvania Department of Education said it was investigating Unionville-Chadds Ford School District Superintendent John Sanville over allegations he withheld information from parents seeking answers after a known “genderqueer witch” as Deni Tobin spoke to high school freshmen last year. .
tobin talked to the students about dating violence and administered a survey about their sexual history, including asking if they had ever pressured someone into sexual activity. The parents also believe Tobin distributed Planned Parenthood resources at the meeting.
Parents have them pressed repeatedly to the school board for responses to the presentation. In April, local parent and attorney Chad Williams filed an educator misconduct complaint against Sanville, accusing the superintendent of stalling his search for answers.
On Friday, the Pennsylvania Office of the General Counsel told Williams that the commonwealth would conduct a preliminary investigation into Sanville.
In the letter, Assistant District Attorney Jeff Fair told Williams that he had “reviewed the educator's misconduct complaint … in which you alleged that Dr. Sanville is violating the law to protect himself from transparency and accountability for their documented misconduct and violations of the law.”
“We have determined that the allegations in your complaint are legally sufficient to warrant professional discipline,” Fair wrote.
The department will close the case if it does not find probable cause. If it does, it will send its findings to the district or the department will conduct its own investigation.
The school district has already conducted an investigation and determined that its own policy was not followed when Tobin distributed the sexually-themed surveys to students. Tobin was invited to speak as part of the Chester County Crime Victims Center, an organization that worked with the district from 2017 to 2023.
The The Pennsylvania Department of Education did not respond to a request for comment.
