The 12- and 15-year-old sons of a North Las Vegas pastor recorded their father's final moments, a wrongful-death lawsuit filed against the pastor's neighbor reveals.
Joe Junio ​​has been charged with murder, attempted murder and child abuse after he allegedly shot Grace Point Church pastor Nick Davi, 46, over a homeowner's association dispute involving chickens and dogs The Davi family was in the car when Junio ​​shot first Nick and then his wife, Sarah Davi, inside a gated community of townhouses on Dec. 29, 2023, he reported. He has filed a 13-page wrongful-death lawsuit against Junio, seeking an unspecified amount. According to the filing, Junio ​​borrowed the gun he was using from someone else and did not have a license or permit to carry a firearm.
“Your mind can't process it,” her Grace Point pastor Ty Neal told FOX5.

Neal said the Davi family was terrorized by Junio ​​for weeks and had even left their home to stay elsewhere because of the dispute. He lives near the grieving family and said he heard the shots that killed his colleague.
“I heard some pops,” he said.
According to court documents, Junio ​​confronted the Davi family outside their home over complaints Davi made about her to the HOA. The HOA, which is not listed in the lawsuit, informed Junio ​​of the complaints.
“The homeowners association knew or should have known that the defendant would likely take violent actions against the decedent and the plaintiff as a result of the ongoing association dispute,” the lawsuit states.
Junio ​​had displayed “increasingly threatening behavior” in the weeks leading up to the shooting, according to a police report reviewed by 8News Now.

“On the day of the shooting, the family was getting into their car to leave for the evening when they saw Junio ​​walk by and stare at them,” the outlet reports. “Junio ​​parked next to them and rolled down the window.”
That's when one of the kids recorded his phone.
“Why don't you leave us alone?” one of the victims asked Junio, “We've had enough.”
“What's your problem with us?” the pastor asked as he approached Junio's car.
According to police, Junio ​​got out of her car and opened fire on the family, hitting Nick and Sarah.
“One of the victims fought over the gun with Junio ​​before fleeing to his apartment,” 8NewsNow reports.
“The lawsuit lists wrongful death, among other causes of action, and asks a jury to award damages in excess of $15,000, which is the standard minimum in Nevada civil lawsuits,” according to the outlet. “Junio ​​remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center as of Tuesday on $300,000 bond.”

At age 46, Nick maintained close friendships with his friends from Riverhead High School and Tampa University. He touching the lives of countless people in his short time with us. We are all shocked and saddened by this senseless tragedy.”
“We are raising funds to support his surviving family,” Michael said.
So far, almost $90,000 of the $100,000 goal has been raised.
