A tragic aviation disaster hit Brazil on Friday when a passenger plane crashed in the state of São Paulo, killing all 62 people on board.
The airline responsible for the flight, Voepass, said the ATR72-500 twin-engine turboprop was carrying 62 passengers and four crew members at Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport when it crashed in Vinhedo.

Local authorities confirmed there were no survivors.
The accident was preceded by images of the plane going out of control moments before the catastrophic impact.

The events took place in a residential part of the city, with many homes in the area.
The plane in question, an ATR72-500, was originally built in Europe more than a decade ago, as documented by Flightradar24. The plane left Cascavel at approximately 11:56 a.m. local time in São Paulo, and its last signal was transmitted about an hour and a half later.
The circumstances that led to the accident have not yet been revealed. “We don't know if there was any kind of mid-air collision, if there was an engine failure. We just don't have enough facts,” shared CNN aviation analyst Peter Goetz. Aviation authorities are continuing to investigate the case with more details to be released as they become known.
