Obama knew, he possibly put in George Clooney to ask Biden to stand by [VIDEOS]

According to reports, former President Barack Obama was aware of the actor and was not fazed George Clooney's recent call for Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 raceaccording to sources cited by Politician. Clooney had informed Obama in advance of his intention to publish an op-ed in the News from New Yorkexpressing doubts about Biden's chances of winning based on his lackluster debate performance.

Although Obama did not discourage Clooney from making these remarks, sources said who neither actively supported nor opposed them. The Hollywood star, who had co-hosted a Biden fundraiser in Los Angeles that generated substantial funds just weeks earlier, bluntly stated in his op-ed that the current Democratic incumbent “can't win” after of his disappointing appearance in the debate.

In the op-ed, Clooney reflected on Biden's performance, saying, “It's devastating to say this, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the” big F—ing deal” of Joe Biden in 2010. He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all saw in the debate.” Clooney and Obama, who are known to be friends, had attended the fundraiser background

When asked about Obama's alleged lack of response to Clooney's remarks, Obama's team declined to comment. The development follows former Obama adviser Jon Favreau agreeing with Clooney's concerns about Biden's debate performance, saying it did not surprise those who attended the fundraiser. Favreau shared that there was a consensus among those in attendance that Biden's performance fell short.

Clooney's comment drew attention not only for its celebrity criticism, but also for the actors' bold claim that Democrats, from senators to congressmen and governors, privately hold similar reservations about the possibilities of Biden in the election. Clooney emphasized the need to face the truth rather than wait for a last-minute change, stating: “The dam has broken. We can put our heads in the sand and pray for a miracle in November, or we can tell the truth.”

While only eight House Democrats have publicly called for Biden to drop out of the 2024 race, others, including Obama, have remained publicly steadfast in their support or opted to wait and watch.
