Following Nikki Haley's loss in the New Hampshire Republican primary, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld blasted her “shameful” competition and efforts to stay in the race.
The host of “Gutfeld!” He took a long look at the “woke” Haley as he addressed how the former South Carolina governor is continuing her Republican presidential bid by effectively running against her own party.
“Why would Nikki treat a New Hampshire hammering as a win? Just because she lost less than expected? she said in her monologue on her show Wednesday.
Gutfeld suggested that “it's about money and power.”
“If she acts like she lost, there goes the gravy train and maybe she thinks if she stays, Trump could put her on the ticket,” he theorized. “But Trump's victory means the deal is pretty much sealed. And if we know, Nikki knows. That's why, as the day of the primary approached, a new Nikki emerged: the wake up”.
He pointed to examples of the former UN ambassador's “enthusiastic anecdotes,” such as “facing discrimination for being brunette when she was growing up. Nikki also claimed she was disqualified from a beauty pageant when she was five years old because she was neither black nor white.
“But it's part of the game. You choose a lane. And hers was the identity,” Gutfeld told viewers before airing a clip of Haley's comments.
“I'm not questioning his origin story or how it affected his life, that's all bullshit. But when you're pandering to the Democrats as a Republican, it's kind of embarrassing,” he noted.
The Fox News host claimed that in New Hampshire, “his constituency wasn't really Republicans, it was Democrats.”
“In a way, he's lashing out against his own party, not just against Trump,” he explained.
Gutfeld also pointed to the results of the Democratic primary in New Hampshire, saying “two little-known challengers got about a quarter of the vote between them,” referring to Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson.
“So while the media squirms to somehow make it a loss for Trump, and Nikki spends tens of millions getting beat up, Biden looks weaker, frailer and, frankly, deader,” he observed Gutfeld.
“So when the media tells you this is far from over, they're right,” he concluded. “The problem is they're talking about the wrong man.”
