“With nearly 9 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter, Greenlaw tackled Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith near the Birds' sideline, lifting Smith by the waist and knocking him to the ground.” NBC news reported “The refs flagged Greenlaw for the tackle.”
As the two players recovered from the play and confronted each other, a fight broke out between Eagles players, staff members and some of the 49ers' players.
At that point, Dom DiSandro, who is the Eagles' head safety, pulled Greenlaw away to separate him from Smith.
“Greenlaw then extended his arm, appearing to point as he yelled at DiSandro. His hand appeared to hit DiSandro in the face, forcing the refs to eject Greenlaw from the game,” NBC News noted.

There was a loud boo from Eagles fans in the stands when Greenlaw left the field during the resumption of the NFC title game at The Linc to go to the locker room.
“DiSandro was also ejected from the game, but was rewarded with a standing ovation from Philly fans at Lincoln Financial Field, as well as pats on the back from members of the coaching staff as he left,” NBC News added.
It should be noted that the NFL's home office communicates with officials during games and may be involved in decisions such as ejecting a player.
USA Today noted, “Greenlaw was punished [a] part of the incident that should never have happened – a non-player on the sideline who had the audacity to intervene in the situation and put his hands on a player from the opposing team.”
Later, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was seen yelling at the officials over the decision to give Greenlaw the boot.
“That's why I did everything possible not to lose my mind. I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much,” Shanahan said. “I couldn't see it all from where I'm at, but when I started hearing people tell me about it and stuff, I can't believe that somebody didn't involved in a football match can make fun of our players like this and put his hands in our boy's face. … It was a very frustrating play. I have to watch it to have a real opinion. I love how we got together afterwards.”
“I can't believe someone who isn't involved in a football game could mock our players like that and put their hands in our guy's face.”

San Francisco legend Jerry Rice, one of the greatest catchers to ever play the game, took to social media after the incident to say of DiSandro, “I would have punched him!”
It looks like the NFL will try to make an example of DiSandro over the incident.
“A 'high-level executive' predicted to Pro Football Talk that 'significant punishment will be meted out' to both Dom DiSandro and the Eagles after Philadelphia's senior adviser to the general manager/safety director tapped the linebacker of the 49ers' Dre Greenlaw to break up a fight. , which resulted in Greenlaw punching DiSando and both men being ejected,” he said New York Post he stated
“Team security officers are not gatekeepers at the game. It's the officials' job to keep the peace,” Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said Sunday, according to the New York Post . “Non-players who intrude on game action risk losing access to the game area.”
Shortly after the incident, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts also left the field after he was slow to get up from a play. He was reportedly evaluated for a concussion, but returned to the game.
In the end, the 49ers won the game 42 to 19.
