California Gov. Gavin Newsom insisted he is a loyal soldier of President Joe Biden, who could soon be ousted as a 2024 candidate by members of his own party.
In a preview interview with CBS News' Robert Costa, the Sacramento bully dismissed talk that he would be on the shortlist to sweep the Democratic bailout if the mentally disabled octogenarian soon retired.

“You're not just a stand-in, you're someone who gets texts and emails every day to consider running,” Costa asked. “How do you handle all this?”
Newsom responded: “Delete, delete, delete, delete, uh, 'Thank you,' delete and rinse, repeat. I'm all in. No daylight.
“You never participate in private?” Costa asked.
“Absolutely not. I know one thing, everything you do in private becomes public, even private thoughts seem to manifest in public, so not a chance,” the governor replied with a laugh.
Ambitious Newsom shot down speculation that he may have cast a longing eye on the White House was posted on the network's X account as a teaser for the full interview that will air on “CBS Sunday Morning” as the pressure increases on Biden. step aside
The governor from the Golden State was the subject of buzz that he was stepping up to replace the mentally frail 81-year-old for his recent presence in the swing state of New Hampshire, though he took care to make their public statements in support of Biden.
“I decided, instead of turning around and giving up, I was going to step up and fight back,” Newsom told reporters at a roadside rest stop in the Granite State. seconds in the Associated Press. “He will be our candidate.”
Newsom also insisted that Biden isn't going anywhere in a recent post on X, while defending fellow Californian Vice President Kamala Harris from “racist” suggestions that the DEI hire only got her gig because of her gender and color of skin

Newsom has previously denied that he is interested in being a Biden replacement, claiming that talk was “idle talk” and a “sideshow” promoted by conservative pundits.

“I think it's a damn conversation, frankly, the other side wants us to have. And believe me, I know the mishegoss is coming from the other side. I'm very mindful of the anger machine and the whole industry of entertainment that's on Fox and elsewhere. They love to nitpick that stuff,” he told NBC's Kristen Welker during an appearance on “Meet the Press” in February.
But that was before Biden's epic implosion at the CNN debate two weeks ago, a performance so bad it plunged the Democratic Party into a state of chaos less than four months before the election.
Biden has adamantly insisted that he has no intention of resigning.
