New York man arrested for triple homicide over noise dispute

-

A New York man, Lenue Moore, 31, has been arrested after a month-long manhunt. Moore is accused of executing his neighbor, his friend and their pit bull, after a long-standing dispute over the dog’s incessant barking.

Moore was discovered hiding under a bed in a Brooklyn apartment on October 26, resisting arrest when law enforcement arrived. The accused had allegedly changed his clothes immediately after the crime to evade capture. The victims of this tragic incident were Jacqueline “Jackie” Billini, 57, her friend Levaughn Harvin, 42, and Billini’s dog, Zeus.

Prosecutors have highlighted Moore’s blatant disregard for legal orders, as he committed the alleged crime despite a temporary order of protection. Moore and Billini were neighbors in an apartment complex on West 163rd St. Earlier this year, Moore was accused of breaking into Billini’s apartment, which resulted in a broken arm for Billini.

The root of the conflict appears to be noise complaints from Billini’s dogs. Billini, who worked as an analyst for the Bronx Housing Court and was about to retire, had felt unsafe in his neighborhood for some time.

Moore was previously charged with first-degree robbery on April 11. Although prosecutors asked for $15,000 bail, it was set at $5,000, which Moore posted. Additional assault charges were added in May.

After the alleged shooting, Moore was found hiding in a Brooklyn apartment on October 26. Since the incident, Harvin had been accompanying Billini on her evening dog walks for safety.

Moore is currently incarcerated at the Eric M. Taylor Center in East Elmhurst and faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to the death certificates, Billini died of a gunshot wound to the head, Harvin of a gunshot wound to the neck and Zeus was shot in the shoulder. Twelve 9mm casings were recovered at the scene and a man dressed in black was seen fleeing the scene.

Detectives linked Moore to the crime scene through video footage and ballistics evidence of a 9mm Glock firearm found in Moore’s apartment. Moore’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 2.
