The failed socialist state of New York has decided that if elected officials can’t do the job of making their voters happy, the next best thing is to suppress their ability to express their unhappiness.
On Monday, New York’s strange governor, Kathy Hochul, made the announcement: If you don’t like the job she’s doing in office, she has people watching you in case you engage in “hate speech”:

Hochul disclosed $75 million for enhanced state security, of which $25 million went to security grants and $50 million went to local law enforcement.
He also declared an escalation of surveillance operations targeting Americans who engage in “hate speech” on social media platforms.
“Also, we’re very focused on the data we’re collecting from surveillance efforts. What’s being said on social media platforms,” Hochul said during the press conference.
“And we’ve launched an effort to be able to counter some of the negativity and reach out to people when we see hate speech being talked about on online platforms. Our media analytics, our social media analytics unit, has increased its surveillance of places to detect incitement to violence; direct threats to others, and all of this is in response to our desire, our strong commitment, to ensure that New Yorkers are not only safe, but that they feel safe because personal safety is everything,” he added.
She did not say what she is doing with that data and whether it will be used inappropriately, such as to control voting data or to exercise the constitutional right to question election results or to mock and satirize public officials like herself.
A federal jury recently convicted Mackey of conspiring to deprive people of their right to vote over a meme he posted during the 2016 election in April. Mackey, who goes by @RickyVaughn99 on Twitter, received a seven-month prison sentence on October 18.
Douglass Mackey recently spoke with Tucker Carlson before the start of his prison sentence for posting memes in an episode that aired Thursday.
Ep. 38 The First Amendment is done. Douglass Mackey is about to go to jail for mocking Hillary Clinton on the Internet. We spoke to him just before his sentencing. Remember as you watch that this could be you.

“The First Amendment is done,” Carlson, co-founder of the Daily Caller and Daily Caller News Foundation, posted on X.
“If someone had told you even ten years ago that you could be indicted by the federal government and go to prison for ten years for making fun of Hillary Clinton on social media, you wouldn’t have believed it,” he Carlson said before interviewing Mackey. . “It’s a free country. We have freedom of speech.”
Interestingly, while Mackey was convicted of disenfranchising Americans, the federal government could not find a single voter who was harmed by the meme. That’s because the number posted in the meme was not a working number.
New York’s emphasis on policing social media platforms for “hate speech” is a dubious rationale, in part because it’s subjective. Many conservative Americans face hate speech online, but legally cannot file claims against anyone. Instead, the Democratic Party has invented laws to protect their client groups under the rubric of “social justice.” This is not the same as equal justice under the law.
New York’s Ministry of Truth should suffer the same fate as the Department of Homeland Security’s attempt to establish one under the Biden regime.
So New York is creating a Ministry of Truth to crack down on views the regime finds unacceptable. Will Nina Jankowicz and Yoel Roth direct it? https://t.co/JSu6iOaANJ pic.twitter.com/M3uBqACYh9

All Americans should question any excuse presented by these lawless, corrupt and tyrannical officials to justify surveillance and censorship. The best protection is our constitutional rights, but these public officials don’t seem to care anymore.
