Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is suing state Attorney General Letitia James to seek documents related to her investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct that forced him out of office in 2021.

The ex-governor states that he needs the statements of the witnesses to defend himself in two accusations of sexual harassment and assures that the public has the right to know “the complete basis of the attorney general to make the significant and impactful decisions in issuing the consequential report and cause the resignation of its democratically elected governor”.
In a statement Friday, Cuomo said that “every piece of information that has come out over the past two years has only undermined the false report by Tish James, and after publicly stating that” evidence will be made available to the public “, has gone to great lengths to hide these documents from taxpayers,” seconds on CBS News.
Once a rising Democratic star whose stewardship during the height of the COVID pandemic made him a left-wing hero, including receiving an Emmy Award for his coronavirus speaking engagements, the political career Cuomo's campaign was derailed by a parade of women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
Investigators working on behalf of the ambitious politician James released the findings on August 3, 2021 of their investigation that the governor had sexually harassed at least 11 women.
“What these witnesses, and many others, described is not just old-fashioned, affectionate behavior, it was sexual harassment,” the report states.
“This is a sad day for New York because independent investigators have concluded that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and, in doing so, broke the law,” James said. said at the time. “I am grateful to all the women who came forward to tell their stories in painstaking detail, allowing investigators to get to the truth. No man, no matter how powerful, can harass women or violate our human rights laws, period”.
The report prompted calls from Democrats, including President Joe Biden, for the governor's resignation. “I think he should resign. I understand that the state legislature can decide on impeachment. I don't know for sure,” Biden said in response to a question from CNN's Kaitlan Collins after the findings were released.
A week later, Cuomo resigned, a stunning fall from grace for a man who had been mentioned as a potential presidential candidate.

Saying he “deeply regretted” any inappropriate behavior, Cuomo denied the sexual harassment findings.
“I've slipped up and called people 'honey,' 'love' and 'darling.' I mean it's endearing, but women found it old-fashioned and offensive,” he said. “I take full responsibility for my actions. I've been too familiar with people. My sense of humor can be callous and nasty.”
So complete was his humiliation that even the Emmys returned your prize Cuomo was replaced by current governor Kathy Hochul, who has governed as even more authoritarian than him.
“This was a political hit job from the start to pave the way for Tish's failed campaign for governor and it's sad that the courts needed to step in and order the state's top attorney to stop violating the law,” said Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi. he said the Daily Mail.
James is currently presiding over one of Republican front-runner Donald J. Trump's multiple legal trials, a high-profile political prosecution that would appear to bolster Cuomo's case that he was the victim of a “political occupation.”
