New York Democrats push to get Trump off the ballot, other states line up

With recent polls showing Trump beating Biden in a head-to-head matchup, Democrats and their allies in the media are desperate. Look no further than New York, where state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal (D) tweeted in response to the Colorado ruling, “New York is next.”

Hoylman-Sigal joined four other Democratic state senators in writing a letter earlier this month to the Empire State Board of Elections arguing that Trump should be barred from the state ballot because of the his role in the January 6, 2021 protest at the United States Capitol. , according to the New York Post.

“The January 6 uprising was a violent uprising against the United States that tragically resulted in the loss of multiple lives,” the letter said.

“That dark day in our nation's history was led, facilitated and encouraged by Trump,” the Democrats said. “The Board must not allow those who participated to run for office again against the mandate of the Constitution.”

Hoylman-Sigal told The Post that “Trump is an insurrectionary and is ineligible for the presidency because of his actions on Jan. 6.”

“It is up to the states to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution and ban Trump from the ballot box,” he added.
