My 8 children “don’t need” my $500 million fortune

Legendary rocker Mick Jagger may be swimming in millions thanks to the Rolling Stones, but he probably won’t be sharing his wealth with his eight children.

The 80-year-old musician hinted in the Wall Street Journal in a recent profile that doesn’t want to sell the band’s post-1971 musical inventory.

Jagger said the money should go to charity instead of his children.

“Children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” he joked in the post.

He continued, “Maybe you do some good in the world.”

Jagger’s eldest child is daughter Karis, 52, whom he welcomed with Marsha Hunt in 1970.

In 1971 he married ex-wife Bianca Jagger and had a daughter Jade, 51.

Jagger also shares four children with ex-wife Jerry Hall, who he was married to from 1990 to 1997: daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 31, and sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 25 .

He and model Luciana Morad Gimenez welcomed son Lucas, 24, in 1999, and their youngest child, son Deveraux, 6, with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, arrived in 2016.

Elsewhere in the interview, the English singer revealed how he hopes the Stones’ legacy will continue long after he’s gone.

“Now you can have a posthumous business, can’t you? You can do a posthumous tour”, he pointed out.

“Technology has really advanced since the ABBA thing [the “Voyage” virtual show].”

Swedish pop band ABBA famously met in 2021 after a 40-year hiatus to release his “Voyage” virtual tour and accompanying album.

Jagger also talked about how the Hollywood music industry has transformed over the decades and how rock and roll was still in its infancy when it started in the early 1960s.

“The industry was so nascent, it didn’t have the support and the amount of people that are ready to be able to advise you like they do now,” he explained.

The “She’s the Boss” singer added, “But you know, it still happens. I mean, look what happened to Taylor Swift! I don’t really know the pros and cons, but obviously she wasn’t happy.”

Jagger was referring to the “Espai en blanc” crooner, 33, who was in a jam with musical director Scooter Braun in 2019 when he bought the master recordings of his first six albums.

Then he decided re-record your music for his fans, as Braun had banned him from performing songs from his back catalogue.

The Rolling Stones have also returned to the world of music, having announced their first album of original songs since 2005 called “Hackney Diamonds” earlier this month.
