If you watched Elon Musk's interview with Donald Trump on Monday night, you know it was two hours of no-holds-barred conversation about a wide range of topics: the border, the Kamala Harris registry, energy, politics exterior, etc. Trump even said he'd like to eliminate the Department of Education and return control of education to the states, an incredibly bold policy position, if you ask me.
The media, naturally, wasted the live discussion:
What interests me is that so many media outlets felt the need to write negative articles about Trump/Musk. @XSpaces interview They obviously realize that the now 149 million people who watched it (at the time of writing) were actually interested. And now they feel the threat… pic.twitter.com/yjvnbVdxT2

Sure, the media liked to focus on the issues that delayed the launch, but overall it was a huge success.
Combined views of the conversation with @realDonaldTrump and further discussion by other accounts now ~1 billion https://t.co/s8x8QmdmnY

As you can imagine, Kamala Harris' campaign wasn't happy about Donald Trump getting a platform to speak, and she quickly used the event as a fundraising pitch, all while throwing around some outlandish accusations.
“Donald Trump's extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a bug of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen tonight during whatever was on X .com,” the Harris-Walz campaign said. he said in a statement, ironically published on X/Twitter. “Trump's entire campaign is in the service of people like Elon Musk and himself: obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and can't do a live stream in 2024.”
As strange as that statement was, it pales in comparison to the email the campaign sent during the interview in hopes of raising money.
This has got to be the most baffling little campaign email of all time and it's even funnier considering that neither Kamala nor Tim Walz spent more than 0 seconds doing an interview, press conference, or any conversation at all. pic.twitter.com/abZBy7Ge10

If the campaign believes Elon Musk is so evil and the platform is just a dumping ground for pro-Trump disinformation and propaganda, why isn't the campaign exclusively on alternative microblogging platforms, like Threads, Mastodon, or Bluesky? Also, why is Kamala's campaign paying Musk for a verified account?
But perhaps the bigger problem here is that Kamala's campaign is in no position to criticize anyone for an interview. Especially since Musk has also offered Kamala a chance to appear on the platform for a discussion:
Delighted to welcome Kamala to a 𝕏 Spaces as well

The Trump campaign also called out Kamala for being afraid to speak to the media:
President Trump has been speaking for over an hour to over a million people about his winning agenda for the American people.
Kamala is VERY MAD about this as she refuses to talk to the media, do an interview or even explain what platform she is running on.
