Michigan City Becomes Second Amendment Sanctuary, Creates Official Militia to Stop Illegal Gun Control Enforcement

-

A city in Michigan has passed a resolution declaring itself a sanctuary of the Second Amendment, and they intend to support this resolution by force if necessary.

The town of Holton, Michigan, passed the resolution Tuesday night and is creating a volunteer militia in the town that can stand against the enforcement of the illegal and unconstitutional gun control recently passed by the Democratic legislature and governor extreme left

The Township is enacting these policies because they believe they are “necessary for the safety and rights of Holton Township residents.”

“The people of Holton Township, through their duly elected members of the Holton Township Board, designate Holton Township as a Second Amendment sanctuary to preserve for the people of Holton Township and their interior, the inalienable rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America,” the resolution says.

“We, the people of Holton Township, hereby declare our inalienable rights, our liberty and our liberty as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America,” the resolution added.

To join the militia, Holton Township residents must be 18 or older, pass a federal firearms background check and issue a letter or state on social media that they want to join the militia The resolution was signed by Holton Township Clerk Malinda Pago, who also serves as co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party.

Major League Politics has reported on how red flag gun control has Michigan State Police worried about their safety:

Michigan law enforcement officials are beginning to question the viability of enforce red flag weapons confiscation orders. According to independent media Bridge Michigan Robert Stevenson, executive director of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, is concerned about how police will enforce Michigan’s new red flag law, which will take effect in the spring of 2024. Stevenson drew several situations in which this taking up arms. could generate lethal risks.

Bridge Michigan noted the following potentially lethal scenarios that Stevenson proposed:

“What if the person with the warrant tries to hurt the officers? What if the person who was considered suicidal is overwhelmed and still hurts themselves when their guns are confiscated? What if the individual with a warrant must be forcibly detained or even killed, because of the threat they pose?”

Red flag gun confiscation orders have become a favorite measure of the anti-gun left. These laws give judges the power to issue gun bans and confiscation orders when a petition can demonstrate another person’s alleged threat to himself or others.

Frankly, this is a recipe for all kinds of disaster, with law enforcement being placed in potentially deadly situations against gun owners who may be unaware of the alleged crimes they’ve been charged with. Additionally, red flag laws are a total violation of due process rights and give the government more power to infringe on gun rights.

More cities need to do this to overturn gun control and other constitutional violations. This is the only way to preserve freedom as society falls.
