Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel verified that “between 8,000 and 10,000” suspicious records were turned over to Muskegon’s city clerk before the 2020 election.
Michigan officials have referred an investigation since 2020 into a large number of voter registrations, provided by a person in Muskegon, to the FBI. Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office recently said so.
Danny Wimmer, Nessel’s press secretary, said the individual had submitted “8,000 to 10,000” possibly fraudulent forms to the Muskegon clerk before the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election.
Wimmer emphasized that this “fraud attempt” was detected before Election Day, stressing that Michigan’s election procedures were effective and, as a result, these applicants were not added to the voter rolls of the state
“The Muskegon City Clerk detected the fraudulent material provided and alerted the appropriate authorities,” Wimmer said in a statement. “Multiple state agencies conducted a thorough investigation and no fraud was successfully perpetrated in the state’s election process or qualified voter file.”
The ongoing investigation, initially revealed in October 2020, has recently drawn attention from right-wing websites, particularly after the Gateway Pundit highlighted reports of the police investigation.
However, Michigan officials have argued that this incident demonstrates the effectiveness of election administrators in identifying and thwarting potential malfeasance.
FBI Special Agent Mara Schneider chose not to comment on the election investigation when approached Friday. Wimmer did not immediately respond to a timeline for the referral to federal authorities.
However, Wimmer noted that the case was turned over to the FBI because of its domestic oversight. It also revealed that the person who provided the records to Muskegon Clerk Ann Meisch’s office was affiliated with GBI Strategies, a Tennessee-based organization that conducts voter registration campaigns.
“The fraud was determined to have occurred at the lowest levels of the company,” Wimmer said in a statement. “The primary internal indication was that its employees were committing fraud against GBI Strategies to manufacture work product without performing the work expected of them and not with the explicit pursuit of defrauding the state’s election infrastructure “.
During the 2019-2020 election cycle, federal disclosures show that GBI Strategies received approximately $5 million from Democratic entities and campaigns for research, voter engagement and other related activities. Among those reporting financial transactions with GBI Strategies in that time period were the Biden presidential campaign and the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.
In October 2020, the Michigan State Police initially disclosed their investigation into “irregularities in voter registration forms” in Muskegon.
Wimmer indicated that as part of the investigation into possible voter fraud, a search warrant was executed at the Southfield location of GBI Strategies that same month.
“This search uncovered payment cards, prepaid-style cell phones, and voter registration forms, all of which were determined to be normal operating devices in GBI Strategies’ line of work,” Wimmer confirmed. “Several firearms were also found during the search, prompting a response from federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Lawyer and political commentator Rogan O’Handley weighed in on the development.
Michigan AG confirms 8,000-10,000 voting records turned into Muskegon’s town clerk by Democratic operative were *all* fraudulent,” O’Handley said. “They kept this secret for 3 years, but [Gateway Pundit] he exposed it. Why hasn’t anyone gone to jail for this?”
“Do people really think this was the only place this happened?” it continued. “If they dumped 10,000 voting records in Muskegon, a city of 38,000, imagine how many they’ve dumped in Detroit, Lansing and other Michigan cities. It could be hundreds of thousands! And that’s just Michigan!”
“GBI Strategies, the left-wing group that paid mules to file fraudulent voter registrations, operated in *20 states* during the 2020 election and took $11 million from pro-Biden PACs and paid the their mules $15 an hour,” he added. “$11 million can buy you a lot of mules. I’m telling you, [Gateway Pundit] may have discovered founding Democratic ‘voting mule’ organization to perpetrate systemic election fraud in 2020.”
In 2020, only 44,000 votes in Georgia, Arizona and Wisconsin kept Trump from tying Biden in the Electoral College. Special counsel Jack Smith has accused the former president of alleging fraud in the 2020 election, claiming it constituted a “conspiracy to defraud the United States.”
