Former first lady Melania Trump delivered an emotional tribute at her mother Amalija Knavs' funeral Thursday morning with her husband and family gathered to say goodbye.
“His nourishing spirit she knew no bounds, creating a legacy that will last for generations,” Melania Trump said of her mother, her voice breaking with grief. “With her beauty and impeccable sense of style, she turned heads. But it was her unwavering dedication and hard work that made her exceptional.”
He died on January 9, at the age of 78. The former first lady spoke of her mother's love for her grandson Barron, whom she “showered with affection, lighting up his world with love, tender care and unwavering devotion.” daily mail reported
She sadly said goodbye at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church: “Rest in peace my dear mother.”

Former President Trump flew home to Florida after his libel trial in New York early Thursday in time to be by his wife's side as she mourned the loss of her mother.
About a dozen black SUVs arrived at the church carrying the Trump family to the solemn event. Melania Trump watched as her mother's casket was carried outside after the service by pallbearers while flanked by clergy.
“As the procession reached the road and he looked at his mother as he was loaded back into the hearse, Trump squeezed and tenderly squeezed his wife's hand,” the Daily Mail wrote.
“It was lovely. She spoke artfully and directly from the heart about her mother's elegance and the extraordinary stewardship she had for the family,” Melania's lawyer Michael Wildes told the Daily Mail afterwards of the service

Showing incredible strength, Melania Trump managed to get through the service without breaking down according to her lawyer.
“Melania was composed and elegant as always, but this was definitely a shocking moment for her,” he commented. “The loss of her mother has shocked her to the core. She relied heavily on her for support and advice. She was the epitome of a loving grandmother.”
Melania Trump and her father Viktor Knavs were surrounded by mourners in the church for the last goodbye. His father was visibly affected by his loss, but managed to overcome the ordeal.
A large Secret Service motorcade escorted the hearse carrying Knavs' casket, decorated with white roses, orchids and Lillies, which arrived shortly after 10am.
Barron Trump and his siblings with their spouses and partners attended the service. According to the Daily Mail, there were approximately 100 bad guys.

The Reverend Tim Schenck greeted the family with words of comfort.
Senators Rick Scott and Lindsay Graham were also in attendance. Trump's sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau, 82, also attended the service.
During a victory speech after a landslide victory in the Iowa caucus on Tuesday, Trump paid tribute to his mother-in-law, calling her an “amazing and beautiful mother.”
“She's up there, way up there. She's looking down and she's so proud of us. And I just want to say to Amalija, you're special, one of the most special people I've ever met,” he said.

The former first lady missed most of the Christmas and New Year's celebrations at Mar-a-Lago to be by her mother's side as she prepared to die.
“Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth and dignity. She was totally devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson and son-in-law. We will miss her immensely and continue to honor and cherish her legacy,” he said Melania Trump in a statement after the death of her mother.
