Former President Donald Trump was barred from appearing on the state's 2024 ballot thanks to four Democratic-appointed judges.
Colorado Supreme Court Justices Melissa Hart, Monica Marquez, William Hood and Richard Gabriel formed the majority of a vote that Found on December 19 that Trump participated in an insurrection on January 6, 2021 and was therefore disqualified under the Fourteenth Amendment from appearing on the Colorado ballot.

None of the Colorado Supreme Court justices, who were also appointed by Democrats, who decided not to impeach Trump, donated to Democratic candidates for federal office, seconds in the FEC records.
Hart currently works as a professor at the University of Colorado School of Law.
As a teacher, she published articles arguing that racial discrimination is a major problem in the workplace and that existing laws do not do enough to combat it, as well as the roles arguing that women are discriminated against by law, specifically on the alleged gender wage gap in the field.
