According to the propaganda pressPresident Joe Biden “destroyed” Trump with a “mic drop time” during a press conference this Thursday about the historic exchange of prisoners. The problem is that Biden didn't “destroy” or “discriminate” against Trump at all; it only further exemplified his cognitive decline on the national stage.
This week, three Americans and one US green card holder, who were arrested and held in Russia, were released in a massive prisoner swap involving a total of 26 people and seven countries. However, the terms of the deal are largely unknown, which is why Trump demanded answers Social Truth Thursday. “So when are they going to release the details of the prisoner swap with Russia,” the former president asked. “It's funny because we never make good deals, on anything, but mostly hostage exchanges.”
After Trump's post, a reporter asked Biden during a White House press conference: “President Trump has said repeatedly that he could have gotten the hostages out without giving anything in return. What do you say about that?”
Smiling, Biden replied, “Why didn't he do it when he was president,” before giving reporters a look and walking off the stage.
The answer is that Trump didn't have to. The US green card holder and two of the US citizens imprisoned in Russia were arrested under the Biden administration
As John Daniel Davidson of The Federalist writes, “This was not a 'mic drop' moment.[…] it was a moment of Biden madness.”
Two of the three American prisoners were arrested by Russia during Biden's term, not Trump's.
This wasn't a “mic drop” moment, as CNN's Dana Bash puts it, this was a moment of Biden's dementia.
