Fear-mongering fueled a former candidate's leap into the White House race when she castigated President Joe Biden as vulnerable to a “dark, dark vision master.”
Given the Democratic Party's handling of the primary process so far in the 2024 cycle, some would be surprised to learn that author Marianne Williamson had even been in the race against Biden, let alone dropped out on February 7th.
On Wednesday, as the president faced increased scrutiny over his ability to hold office, raising speculation about a not scheduled Traveling to Walter Reed Medical Center for his annual physical, Williamson took to social media to explain why his return to the campaign trail was spurred on by former President Donald Trump.
“As of today, I am unsuspended from my campaign for the presidency of the United States. I had suspended it because I was losing the horse race. But something much more important than the horse race is at stake here, and we must respond,” the more than four-minute video began.

“Right now, we have a fascist at the door,” the candidate said in describing the GOP leader. “Everybody's upset about it. Well, we should be upset about it. But we're not going to defeat the fascist with — well, what? What's President Biden offering?”
On the way to promoting himself to the left of the incumbent, Williamson touched on the unrealistic claims of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. that the economy was doing well when many Americans were forced to hold down two or three jobs to make ends meet, while other large swaths of the population had reported skipping meals to ensure I know they could cover their rent.
“What is he saying beyond, 'You know, the economy is doing great'? Are you kidding me? This way?” he went on before pushing socialist policies for taxpayer-funded health care and college education.
“We need to take this country in a direction of hope, possibility and regeneration,” the Democratic hopeful added, asserting, “This is the vision that will defeat Donald Trump.”
“We're watching a slow-motion car crash here. Everybody knows that,” Williamson said before addressing concerns that his own bid was delusional. “I'll tell you what's delusional. What's delusional is closing your eyes and crossing your fingers and hoping that somehow Biden and [Vice President Kamala] Harris is going to be able to be this master of dark, dark vision.”
As it happened, with his campaign still on hold, Williamson had come into Tuesday's race in third place Michigan Elementary with just over 3% of the vote reported compared to Biden's 82%.
Second place was awarded to the non-committals, who received 12% of support after Hamas supporters had pushed their protest vote against the incumbent to promote their call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“We're still in this. We're going to do it. This is serious. We have to say to the American people, 'we see your pain,' and we have to say to Donald Trump, 'we see your BS,'” Williamson concluded before some reality check comments.
You lost to “Uncommitted”. Pack it up.

I have a question…Which donor came forward and said they will help fund you to leave your campaign suspended?

I applaud you, Marianne. Really. I do.
Only someone like you could see your incredible loss at Michigan yesterday and say, “Yeah, I'll give it another go.” I wish more people had the courage to fail like you.
